I think we're focusing more on "pivotal life moments," not just the aging/maturation process itself. So ages shouldn't really be that big of a concern...

But bum is right about the importance of sharing ideas and planning. So far I think only a handful of us have actually posted in-depth descriptions of what we would like to do with our requested tracks. It'd be nice to see more of the potential editors here develop their ideas a little bit more.

ok I've started to write things down a bit now. Im just puting down scenes which I could use, as I go through watching the series. Oh and I've also started righting out a basic plan

Death (gf dying, event leading up to her death)

Hate (bf's hate for the moster he blamed for killing his bf)

Memories (good and bad memories of time togeather)

Revenge (revenge against killer)

End?

Thats the current plan I've got, in a sort of chronological order. However I want to mix things up a bit, and creat a transition. For example, having scenes which are a part of the Hate section mix in with the memories section as one is ending and another is begining. Also having scenes which fit into one section, go into another at around the mid point.

My problem is that I dont know what section of the song Im using yet, so planing remains a little "abstract" and Im throughing around idea's without being sure if they'l realy work.

Ditto.

There was a suggestion a while back to have the segments in age order but it was discarded for the same reason as trying to show a single life, it's just too limiting. Having an age order would add something to the final project but it would reduce the quality of the individual segments, and that's the important thing.

Yes I realize this is a problem. I was hoping that we would have only one or two conflicts and that I could fill up the roster without to much trouble. Unfortionatly things didn't pan out that way.

At this point I will wait a little bit more for things to settle into some kind of order and to see if I can't get some of the undecided people to go for one of the short sections. Looks like I might end up doing the charicter profiles if I want them to turn out the way I've planed *cringes*

In case you are wondering what's going on with this project. The answer is regrettably, nothing at the moment. The reason? I am dead. I am dead and my finals are dancing on my grave singing halliluah.

Normal brain functioning will resume Wensday night, till then:

 :x  :? :(

Heh, yea, it's close to the same with me - not finals, but essay + other commitments.

That, and I'm still somewhat at a loss for scenes I could/should add into the middle area to improve the flow.

Perhaps I should resort to trying to implement some effects instead - if I knew how

Anyways, no rush - I'm sure I'll have another beta by christmas, at least.

Ok I've decided to do the driving rhythm, seeing as no-one els wants it. I spent alot of time yesterday just siting infront of vegas, wondering what the hell to do. its alot easier to plan than to work. I seriosly considered backing out. But I woke up today at 5am and managed to get a few seconds of edits in thier without geting frustrated. So things will probaly turn out ok.

OK, I'm finnally done with finals, at home and settled in. I've opened up my editing software and started playing around both for this project and a video I have planed to Zero 7's "In the Waiting Line."

I hope to have track assignments done tomorrow, If I have to I'll leave some short peices open in the hopes of convincing Bakadeshi, Godix, or AMV_4000 to take one. As for the people who have made requests, I think that with some tweaking there's no reason we couldn't have everyone contribute somthing. Anyways, I think it's going to work out. Sorry for the delay and see you tomorrow.

I was going to make a bad pun involving the name of this project but couldn't think of anything witty enough.

Don't worry, I'm alive - I'm just kind of not rushing things too much, since I'm still *thinking* about possible footage to expand on the existing sections of my segment that wouldn't ruin the whole thing. I kind of got a head start, anyway - I hope the rest of you start making tracks soon, too...

OK, this has been really tough but I have track assignments done. I've matched up things as best I could according to source, idea, and editor style.

One quick note, I'm not a natural leader, to have a bunch of people put their trust in me to make this happen and to see that their efforts are not wasted is not something I take lightly. Given this I was a bit nervous about the track assignments, both in terms of people getting a chance to be a part of this project and the final quality of the piece. Then I remembered something: When this project started out we had no grandiose plans for a groundbreaking plot-based MEV. We said, here is a song that deserves a video, and since none of us can do it individually, we will do it together. That is something to think about when you get too concerned about how this is all going to turn out.

Without further ado:

0:00-1:50 Introduction ------------------------Otohiko
1:50-2:14 Title, prelim credits.----------------pen-pen2002
2:14-4:45 Journey section---------------------open/pen-pen2002
4:45-6:30 Drums, Driving Rhythm------------Bad Martial Artist
6:30-8:17 Character profiles-------------------Various
8:17-10:08 Bridge/Thematic Break-----------Toji Fujawara and Songbird21
10:08-12:50 Epic Melody+Organ Section ----Themaan
12:50-14:33 Guitar Solo-----------------------Bum
14:33-16:25 Journey Reprise -----------------Jasper-Isis
16:25-16:45 Conclusion------------------------pen-pen2002

Bum – I know this was low down on your list of choices, probably because it’s so busy, but it also has some rare dynamic contrast and I think it will work with your subject matter.

Themaan – I know this is a large section and your mostly interested in the beginning. The organ section is tricky to work with (always reminds me of Hellsing personally.) If I can’t get someone else to help out here I could cut a piece out of the song.

Toji and Songbird – since this part is so different musically it can stand to be a bit actiony. You can split it up either way you want. The first half is sparse, the second half is more busy. I had Songbird on the second half because I know she is good at advanced synching. (Also Songbird, it would probably work better if you just choose one anime instead of having a bunch, Naruto seems well suited to the tone of that section because of it’s nice dark scenes. The others don’t seem like they would work as well.)

Jasper-Isis – You have a really solid idea, can’t wait to see it in action.

BMA – You have a crazy section and what sounds like a crazy anime, let’s see how you put them together. Don’t sweat the deadline (which we in fact do not yet have) I’ll give you plenty of time to do it.

Character profiles – I’ve decided to split this up into 3 or 4 (depending if you want to make the split at 6:50) very short sections that will be open to people who expressed interest in the project but didn’t get one of the main sections. (I’m thinking Cless, Greenjiro, Bakadeshi, AMV_400, godix, etc.) These are very loose and quick segments so they don’t require a lot of commitment.

I’m going to start talking to AD about getting a little more hosting space. If not we can probably fit it in the 100 Mb limit without sacrificing too much quality.

If you have any questions or concerns, bring them up right away so we can deal with them while the situation is still relatively malleable.
