The Christmas Project - It has begun !!!

This forum is for the announcement, organisation and discussion of Multi-Editor AMV Projects.

If you don't mind, I'd like to switch songs. I'd ordered a CD with a version of the song I was planning on using, only to find that it wasn't as good a remix as I'd hoped. So instead, I'd like to use the song (similar title, but different song) "All I Want for X-mas".
And about the official name of the project, I still like the name "The Christmas Project" the best. It's straightforward. If you really wanted other suggestions, the only thing I could think of would be something like "Project ChristmasMix". But the original name would still be my first choice.

About the War is over song, you might have noticed, but I'm really into that Celine Dion CD. I have tonnes of CDs and versions of the song, but Oh Holy Night and War Is Over are by far my favourites in all, and Celine Dion does them justice. Then again, everyone is free to choose the version he or she wants :)

[/quote]

I probably like Celine Dion as well as you do and even have that chistmas CD (somewhere). ^_^ But I listened to a clip of the song to remind myself of it, and I think the tempo is a bit slow for my purposes. The music has to be able to keep up with the obligitory shots of fast moving mobile suits doing things ya know. I think I need something up to the tempo of the John Lennon version or faster.

Rumor has it that U2 did a cover of the song, so I'm trying to find a sample of that right now. However, the Jingle Bells? idea has refused to die...I may have been doomed from the moment my brain cast Marimeia as Miss Fanny Bright.

So it is finally official, the name is gonna be ...

*Snaps fingers* Damn. I wanted that song.

Well, seeing as that's the only song I wanted to do then I can't do this, but if you would like another anime that has snow scenes to add to the list Fruit's Basket has 2 episodes full of snow. :)

Finally started my preprocessing work for my track. I've discovered something wonderful about Tokyo Godfathers though. "Wonderful" in the sarcastic sense.

What it looks like to me is that Satoshi Kon and his animators decided to use this kind of jittery lighting effect, likely to look like fluorescent/dirty city lighting. It looks great, at it's native 29.97 fps progressive. Slow the video down to 24 fps, and you really start to notice the pixels bouncing around. So I'm a bit at a loss about how to filter this out. VagueDenoiser() made it look ugly. Msmooth() with high enough settings removes it, but it also removes snow....witch is a suboptimal solution. Deen() seems to remove some of it but not all; if the help files for it weren't a) extremely spase and b) in French, I might be able to figure out how to fix it. A strong enough temporal cleaner/smoother might be the ticket but I don't know what filter that would be....never needed one before.

I can't spell in the mornings, or finish posts. Gah.

Anyone familiar enough with the concepts of filtering to help me out?

Guess I should have taken this to the Video Help forum, but I figured I'd ask in project first.

How much of the footage are we talking about here? If it's just a few short scenes you may want to consider the msmooth filter then adding in snow in Premeire. It'd take a little work but as long as we aren't talking about the entire video it shouldn't be that bad

Okay I've at hard at work making my AMV for this project and looking for a job and doing school work and house chores and not sleeping much..... :( But what I want to know is do we make our own opening and closing credits or will the heads of this project make one for us? I have no problem either way. :)
