On the full-screen commentaries, some of the pics on mine are rather jaggy. Did they get resized stragely, or were they like that when I sent them? (It appears I deleted them, so I can't tell on my end)

I did have to resize one of the commentaries, since they came smaller than the others, I don;t remember if that was yours though. I don;t rememeber any of them looking too jaggy, but I'll check yours again with a closer eye. If it turns out yours is the one I needed to resize, I'll pm you about it if you want to send higher res images to replace them, if it bothers you.

The smaller set was rose's, and even those should've been big enough to NOT have to be upsized during compositing. I don't think the problem is due to image resolution but rather resizing method. Or it could be due to unnecessary deinterlacing. The result looks similar to what happens if I don't disable Premiere's annoying "Deinterlace when speed is less than 100%" option.

I've noticed the jaggy edges in the other commentaries too, but the only place where they become somewhat bothersome is in the title cards. You'll notice that the edges of the text are a bit jagged and blurry.

Since these are nitpicky details, and it takes you forever to render the segments, I'll leave the decision to correct the jagginess up to you.

Whoops, sorry, my internet was being iffy that night, so I only sent out links to the fullscreen people. I'll go send that now via PM... So, you don't have any problems with the widescreen beta?

Bakadeshi, have you decided on what to do? I haven't seen you online in a while. Keep in mind that I still have the cell number that you gave me in case of "urgent instrumentality issues."

As of today, we have less than two weeks before Christmas! Let's finish this! :D

Anything?

And oh, have we gotten any closer to having some more ideas for that write-up, or am I gonna have to pull it out of my ear?

Oh.

I'm not alive yet, but as of noon tomorrow, I'm free as a stool pigeon. :D

I feel cheated. My 80-something pages in two weeks have proven to be much less tortuous than I expected

[edit]

Yey done.

But I'll be happier when it's animasia. Even if it's not 85 pages.

hey, just a quick update... I'm realy buisy this week, with finishing up work at the shop that needs to be done beofre the holiday, so this week I'm pretty much won't have time to work on anytthing, and i've been to tired after work to feel like editing. Next week should be better though.

As for the betas, not many people comented on them, should I take that as an ok to finilaize these (visually) and just tweak the sound? Everyone is happy with the commentaries otherwise?

That reminds me that I'm supposed to start writing up the description today.

I'm still trying to figure out how to best approach it; seems like it's an obvious thing but it's kind of not. Part of the reason is that unlike my own AMVs, I actually had precious little involvement with whole sections of the project.

ANYWAY

For starters, what's our final tracklist?

And here's the list of songs that I will be entering into the database:

Claude Debussy - "Clair de Lune"

dwp, it's "No. 3," right? Not No. 1?

Anyway, Oto, I'm better at telling what's missing/in excess than at starting from scratch, so I'll be able to help you when you've got at least a partial draft down.

Oh yeah, Bakadeshi, if you're still looking for that one bg song, I've got two suggestions for you. Take a look in your PM box.

One more week!

:o my network card was zapped for a few days. i'm back now. here's what i came up with for the profile.

"From time to time the order and selection of compositions on this program may be changed." - from the Playbill of Walt Disney's Fantasia.

Animasia is the first of a series of proposed multi-editor projects, collectively referred to as Instrumentality. Modeled after Disney's Fantasia, Animasia includes full-length anime music videos using instrumental music.

History
Instrumentality was conceived by Rose4emily, who directed Animasia from April 2004-July 2005. Jasper-Isis took over the role of project director from July 2005, until its completion in December 2005.

Motivations for the project included a suggestion for an "anime Fantasia" by ChiaPetzukamori, as well as desires to improve the exposure of instrumental music videos. The Animasia project officially began in April 2004. The bulk of the video editing stage continued until September 2004, and meta-features (monologues, credits) dragged (and at times painfully) until December 2005. The project includes videos completed or largely completed prior to the creation of the project, including A Boy I Knew and Tomoe in the Moonlight, as well as videos created specifically for the project, including End of all Eva, and Requiem for a Nightmare.

Just as Animasia is not simply a collection of anime music videos, the production of Animasia was not simply a combination of individual video editors creating their own videos. Throughout the work, there are parts that were conceived, designed, and produced through the feedback and collaboration of the group members. Over its 21-month course, the project drew a wide variety of emotions from its contributors (and some prospective fans I imagine), but it was an irreplaceable experience to have with the all who contributed.

That does look quite good, actually :o

I'll look over it in more detail today and see what I come up with.

One thing to keep in mind, I think, is that we're going to have two separate entries for the segments, so some kind of individual commentary pertinent to one or the other segment will probably be needed in the introduction. Otherwise, I like the structure!

You know what - let's go with that general structure, just fitting it in to work with the separate entries for the two segments. It definitely works really well.

(I know, it's cheap of me to be trying to get out of writing it, but I think it's far more to-the-point than whatever I'd come up with on my own  )

I'll try to track down Jasper to briefly discuss the final appearance of the description and receive my mandatory kick for being a slacker shortly. :P
