Um, yes.

Two new tracks have been added, another one soon-to-be, I think. The proper, highest-quality sources have been obtained for pretty much all tracks. All tracks have been properly resized, encoded and prepared for merging. Work is going on with the 'extras' like introductions and commentary tracks, part-way done.

Jasper has been doing an excellent job as project leader, though I'll leave it to her to set a final release date here. It's getting done though; since the change of leadership, it's been moving forward steadily after unfortunately standing still for a number of months. I hope people have some sympathy for what's involved in putting together a project that's over an hour long (and most of the work right now is being done by one person).

She's adorable! xD

I'm compiling video samples of the widescreen commentaries right now. Kalium, if you have any takes other than the one from way back, let me know soon!

I somehow don't think that whatever we could muster forth would be at the same level as Song's earlier narration.

I'm not quite sure what to think of this idea... does anybody else have an opinion on this?

Yey, I've completed the widescreen commentary samples for Oto's and Pen's recordings. Check my AIM profile for links, and post comments here.

You'll probably notice that there's no smoke in the video. I've left it out for the time being, because I haven't had time to figure out how to make it follow the moving pipe.

One other thing: I kinda threw the arm movements on the timeline randomly, so don't worry if they don't quite make sense for now. What kinda bothers me is that they look a little too smooth to be natural. Any thoughts?

I'll only make a note that this is NOT my final attempt here. Seriously :|

I'm having problems getting access to a good microphone, and I screwed up with the multiple takes and de-noising a little. I can assure you that anything more final that I do would end up sounding at least better technically.

Pluss I was ultra-tired (or rather, frustrated) when I was recording it, too.

Excuses, I know. But I need those

Jasper, do you think theres any chance that we can get this to premeire for AWA? I can speed up on the naratives to make it in time, but what about the other aspects of the project? If we think its doable, I may wanna try and secure us a spot somewhere to show it... especially since theres no DDR this year .

Doable? I doubt it, though I'd need a solid deadline to tell.

The two things that we need to do ASAP are [1] vote on dwp's video and [2] decide who's recording the widescreen commentaries.

Here's the complete to-do list:

1. get HQ files of Oratorio and Requiem, pt. 2, and encode them for joining (me, though it kinda depends on Bakadeshi and Penpen)

2. record commentaries on new videos (Song)

3. complete fullscreen commentary video files (Bakadeshi)

4. join all fullscreen files together; encode (me)

[Done with fullscreen section.]

5. record all widescreen commentaries (I'm leaning towards Oto because he seems to be the most accessible and least busy. And a seductive voice, eh? That might be a useful tool to have on our side.)

6. complete widescreen commentary video files (me) - this one's going to take a week or two.

7. complete credits (me, though I still need materials from TJ and dwp)

8. join all widescreen files together; encode (me)

[Done with widescreen section.]

[Done with project.]

Guys, let's do as much as we can within the next week. I really want to get most of the work done before I have to bury myself too deeply in these college applications. @__@

If you mean AWA 12 :P

From what I've seen of the AWA schedule it's freakin' packed, so I don't know if they could jam it in on such short notice (I believe that VG3 took DDR's spot, but I could be wrong; and three other projects that I know of are also being shown).

I'm still pretty much waiting on trying to get a better headshot of myself for the credits (although I can get you the one i have at anytime)

Ehehe...

That one's actually very untrue
(I try to avoid as much talk of it as possible on AIM for reasons of boringness, but realize that I'm also very actively involved in a project that's of no smaller scale than this on the modding side of things which I'd also like to get through as soon as I can, whilst settling out my college stuff here NOW too...).

Accessible or approachable is the right word though. I've been telling you all along that I'm willing to help out any way I can. Don't underestimate this Oto's functional ability, however blabbery and idle he may seem.

That said, I will steal that microphone tomorrow if I have to

Uh... does anyone have anything constructive to say as far as my actual VOICE?

Here's a pack of a few takes on my and Pen-Pen's commentaries I did today if anyone feels like picking at my voice. Still with the crappy microphone, so the voice is what I'm concerned with. Tear me apart, critically speaking, if you have to. If I'm being leaned towards, I had better know exactly what everyone would want to hear (even if I don't actually get picked, which is fine).
Please check them out if you have time:

I've been trying for the last hour, but I can't seem to get a satisfactory recording out of myself. Too many pops and clicks from my tongue. Looks like I won't be able to produce anything useful. Pen-pen's a lot better at this than I am, anyway.

Alright then.

It's now either me or Pen-Pen doing this.
I'm not really as impressed with my own voice as DWP, so it's really a matter of who you think would do a better job. It's all the same to me, as long as it gets done in proper time.

In fact...

ATTENTION:
I would like to have a decision on who everyone thinks should do the recordings by midnight (est) tomorrow. It's important, because afterwards, I may have trouble making arrangements to obtain better equipment and getting it set up, not to mention finishing it before I get dragged off to school again.

If no decision is made by then... well, I shall make that decision myself and step aside.

Alles klar?

I see the link to Oto's samples, but not the one for Pen-Pen's (I probably missed it). Where might I find those at?

Those are only voice samples. Check Jasper's AIM profile for links to the actual video tracks with the voices. That should give you a better idea :)
