I just got the project and will see it in a little while.

Well, really, it depends on the level of editing involved. For me, the rule is about 3 hours of editing per minute of video at least. The Wasteland was about 4 though. But still, that's about my time.

But some of the more 'techy' editors can easily spend a lot of time with stuff. You know, 20 hours per minute of video or more.

I've realized myself to be the complete 'KISS' editor. Whatever I do, it's always simple, and if I do something fancy, I cut corners (or cut squares out of a grid, if you like *cough*).

***

7 minutes for one person isn't too much though, and it all depends on the music and what you do with it. On the other hand, 11-15 minutes I consider out of my own range. I'd love to do an AMV to one of King Crimson's longer, drawn-out instrumentals, but I think it might also take a multi-editor project (both because of the length and complexity of editing that would probably be required).

What'll happen with this? I don't know, but I wouldn't have many reservations about getting something like this (were I an uninvolved viewer). Eh, I understand if it was all one piece all set to the same beat - that could be kind of a drag. But given the sheer variety of visuals and music involved, this shouldn't be a problem.

anubis: Another Evangelion video won't hurt. The Wasteland is the only one using Eva.

rose4emily: the AVIs WMM puts out aren't frame specific, so the video gets off synch at parts, but i'll see what i can do.

pen pen: that's a good point, we are in a sense doing a new version of fantasia. erm, i like the sound of Animasia a bit more, but we could call it some edition of Fantasia.

as for the length of this video, it's going to be unlike anything else here i suppose. Viewers will need to approach it more as a full-length movie or maybe an extra long episode rather than a music video.

i downloaded bryal's video, and pen pen and oto's latest. i'll watch em tonight. maybe play around with the banner.

Actually, I was just mentioning a need for updating the site earlier.

1) The 16:9 rule is now gone, as far as I know.

2) Well, as long as it's an instrumental video that fits the content guidelines (no excessive violence/hentai) - yep, anything instrumental should do.

Well, guess I'd better start digging out classical cds unless
the theme to Night-Rider counts as classical

Note: Instrumental, not neccesarily classical

Jazz, instrumental rock, folk, and even modern electronic stuff - they're all fair game.

In fact, the more variety, the better.

And no, you're definitely not too late. If you're up for doing this, contact rose4emily and get set up with instructions and FTP access...

The server's back up. :)

New Editors. :) :)

Uh, yeah, I really should update the web page. Thanks for pointing that one out.

7 Minutes per person impossible - hah! Anyone seen "Flying Motionless Above the Waves"? A bit light on the editing side, but 23 minutes long. Of course, the only two responses I've gotten on that one are "Wow" and "What the hell did you make me sit through that for?", sometimes both, but more of just the second....at least my embarassing first vid was a sleep-inducing Floyd, Tutu, and Bebop bit and not a vomit-inducing Linkinball piece.

once you have FTP access upload the songs your thinking about using so we can get an idea what your looking at doing. It's also a good idea to upload Works In Progress as this project is pretty colaborative, with a lot of feedback between creators.

"nothing else matters" is now in the outbox and set for downloading. and it looks like i guessed right with metallica - goes well with all the hendrix tributes.

now, if only the string tribte to black sabbath wasn't so horribly butchered... there might be three perfectly good acoustic interperetations of the guitar gods.

Yea I'm still in the project, Was just concentrating on finishing up some tweaks to Angels Redemption thanks to Pen-Pen's thoughts on the vid.
I am still deciding on a song, So I will upload it/them once I narrow it down a bit, after watching some of your other works on the site already. Man i thought these are WIPs... Rose4emely's in particular is 100megs O_O
I'll upload 2 of the tracks that I am strongly considering anyway.... once this transfer finishes ;p
