I didn't say you had to edit the track in the way it was done a year ago. If you did that, then it would just be a clone. And therefore carry no weight amongst the other great tracks in the MEP. I just feel better scene usage and a better execution of your theme would benefit that section more. Maybe a different source would be the way to go with this track or maybe a multi-source it's up to the editor as to which source to use just as with the track it's up to the editor to edit the track according to the theme and find the best possible way to execute it.

I say give it another go. I would really hate for you to quit because of my input, if I feel guilty now, my mood will really go down the shitter if I feel you quit because of my review. Give it another go and see how it turns out. I just don't think Kanon was the right choice.

I actually prefer if you don't sugar coat it, because then I can become a better editor. xD
Yeah, I'm trying something different to see if it'll work out. O: I'll be sending it soon~

Haha! xD Same! :D

AimoAio wrote:I think the biggest problem with your track is the pacing. It just feels slow because you used still scenes with little action/movement and since the track is pretty upbeat, it doesn't quite fit. You could try finding all the scenes with Mai and the other guy(dunno his name ) with movement and then use simple cuts to beat sync, that might be easier to do and will probably look nicer than the forced zoom syncs. If you need some help or just want more feedback/help you can hit me up on Skype. ^^ It would be sad if you dropped out now. :(

That's pretty much the fastest I can get, I think. D: Mai isn't shown as much as she should be so I'm going to try something else. And I'll get rid of the zooms O: Also thanks! I'll be sure to contact you if I need any help~

I was under the impression we would have ending credits for the anime and such.

Yeah me too.

I also agree with the others about the beta. It's very upbeat, has great scene selection and also plenty of energy but for a credits track, it feels more of a MEP track than a credits track. Mainly because the most important part, the names & anime sources aren't really clear. The text disappears way too quickly to be read by most viewers, I only managed to get a quick glimpse and I've always been a pretty fast reader. So what I suggest you do is play with the blending modes for the text[try overlay/add or screen] to see which one looks nicest and clearest. Then rather than have them appear/disappear abruptly with the scenes, fade them in, KEEP them overlayed for a certain amount of time and then just do a gradual fade out. Also another suggestion, instead of using Macross for the entire song segment, you could perhaps use small parts from each of our tracks along with our names. (for 0:42 onwards).

Seems that I'm the only person who doesn't like the credits that much :?

I think it was a nice idea to make the credits-part into a concert, but I think the anime choice is kinda...weird?...don't know how to put it into one word...
I mean that I can't imagine Ranka and Sheryl singing this song. When Sheryl is singing it looks ok because she is sexy, but Ranka is way to cute for this song. And sometimes the facial expression doesn't fit with the singer.
In addition to that I think the second half should be faster. Faster cuts,....and so on

But it seems that I'm the only person complaining about these things. You could try to think about what I said and maybe you'll agree with me in some points or we come to the clue that I talk shit

I agree to. I'm using Macross Frontier for my part so it's kind of repeating to.

Would it be alright if I experimented with Sailor Moon???

I may stick with Macross, but it seems people don't like my vision.

Yeah you can. I'll make an allowance for a source. Don't say I'm not a nice guy :) Just make the footage as pretty as you can.

@Inan:

Ok. I look forward to yoru track.

Other News:

Also Hagaren, Dar said he dropped. He isn't gonna do the first part. So, if there are any takers for the first part of Hagarens Track, then please take it. Otherwise, I will once I finish my track.

Hello my name is Diego Bank. I listen to Cascadathon about once or twice a day, and then on infinite repeat when I am concentrating on gaming (because it shortens my reaction-time and helps me monitor my spells' cooldown-times). I am contacting you now in the high hopes that your crew members can participate in my project:

Requirements: Since I've used Cascadathon as one of the sample videos to discuss Quality, I will describe what a High Quality video entails - yet since I have only just contacted you, I will tell you my analysis later. We are collecting applicants from http://www.gamedev.net/topic/609098-commission-video-editor and Nexon... Though when I tracked The Cascadathon Crew to AMV forums, I realized that the only people who would fulfill our criteria (while being interested enough to work for minimum wage) would be found here (I cannot afford a professional for the length of video I am aiming for). Therefore I am contacting you now to see how I can contact the community here to hire or commission one or more video editors for our music video.

I say 'our' in reference to my guild, Colossus, which I am co-leading. I sponsor this guild in addition to my favourite manga artist, http://Mayshing.com, who is developing an indie anime-project called E-Depth Angel (it just started - but the Manga is really good)!! Along this theme of sponsoring artists, my guild and I are hiring a video editor to work on our project at: http://colossus.forum-motion.com/t916-hiring-video-editor

The purpose of this music video is to hype our guild and demonstrate our excellence in competitive-gaming. The video format will resemble a compilation of gameplay footage:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZveyXikVUCo
We use a variety of recording software, and it will be up to me to communicate formatting-requirements to our Livestreamers (footage recorders). There are approximately five footage recorders who will be submitting footage to our video editor (facilitated by me), and you do Not need to keep the original sound-effects or BGM.

We are using the above game Dragon Nest for our content. Regarding the final format of the video, it is targeted for Youtube (highest quality) with attention to detail in synchronizing both the
1) clip-transition to the music beat
and
2) movement/actions and lyrics and melody
The synchronization we are looking for in terms of movement+melody is exemplified from 5:19 - 5:58 in the CascadaThon AMV. As well as in 2:50 - 3:33. The synchronization between actions and lyrics can be done at the editor's discretion, though I will advise on some of the content since the lyrics will be utilizing game-vocabulary. The rest of your The CascadaThon Crew's AMV has excellent synchronization between music beat and transitions, as perfected in E u p h o r i a.. I like how chiicrazy incorporates captions into the Final Fantasy video because it would be an excellent bonus if we could include the names of all of our 100-300 guild members in the music video!! I will compile a list of our members here: Member List

Do you know of any artists who would be qualified to do this? They would also be paid to select and compile clips from our footage recorders, at negotiated hourly wage. They will be working with the [Karaoke] Bad Apple!! soundtrack, to which I will be writing lyrics and hiring a talented singer (or my friends). One of my friends runs a music store, one sings in international live concert as part of a choir and one is my really close Friend. Once I've recorded with one of them (not the music store guy since he lives somewhere else now but he was also a singer for the international tour) then I will show it to you, get your feedback and decide on whether to commission Laura Shigihara for the finished version :)

We will have our footage ready for editing by September 17th (after which you can request custom roleplayed scenes of up to 16 players). If we run out of $200 budget then show us your current work and we'll do Fundraising. The English lyrics for our soundtrack will also take a few weeks but you can go off Touhou - Bad Apple!! PV until we have our custom recording. For info on lyrics see our website. The clip imagery should be related to the lyrics (to be discussed with footage recorders). I'll be discussing the project in-depth with our applicants during the first week of September, in order to select candidates and estimate a price quote. If I can't afford this, then I'll begin contacting people who can from my guild! Ideally if we are looking to be paid for the whole project then we should start at 0:00 have an appealing preview by the time we start fundraising! I donate $250 per week towards my guild but... That's for my guildmates to use, and if you want to get their funding then you need to win their support with the first $200. If anyone has questions or feedback/criticism then message me using any of the above Contact methods.

TL;DR- You're a big fan of CascadaThon. You tracked the members down and want one or all of us to put together a video featuring footage you supply of your guild PvE-ing and PvPing in an MMO for within a $200 Budget.
------------------------

Hmm, enticing offer. Though we as editors can't rightly take money for working on a project that uses already copyrighted material. That would then make what we do illegal. We as AMV editors don't take money for our creations, we edit for....hmm how do you say....."For The Love Of The Game"

I would be inclined to help you make this guild video since I myself have made quite a few in the past for a couple legions in AION and RF Online. But, I'd be more than happy to do it for free.

The majority of MMO games encourage players to post their gameplay on the internet. The game we are taking all of our footage from actually has a button you can press to take a video recording of your screen and the sound on your speakers. http://www.nexon.net/legal/terms-of-service states:
NEXON AMERICA INC. - TERMS OF USE wrote:While using the Service, you may create your own homepage of the Social Networking features where you can communicate with others. In addition, while playing the games, you may display the information generated from your participation in the games on your personal homepage.

Which means that any in-game footage and audio recording can be posted online. However, we are not allowed to sell any product or service that uses Nexon's intellectual property.

NEXON AMERICA INC. - TERMS OF USE wrote:You may not use our trademarks and trade dress in connection with any product or service that is not ours, in any manner that is likely to cause confusion among customers or subscribers, or in any manner that disparages us.

Therefore if you are providing a service to edit in-game footage then you are not allowed to confuse customers or damage the reputation of Nexon.
The only cases where Nexon has removed Youtube videos (known by me) are due to showing how to exploit a hack (because hacking is not allowed) or for leaking the trailer to an unreleased game. Dragon Nest has been livestreamed publicly by World Cyber Games in Korea (and possibly televised).

Regarding music copyright:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Touhou_Project wrote:ZUN, for the most part, had acknowledged, appreciated, and even encouraged these derivative works by imposing very few restrictions on the use of his works.[1] The major restrictions are on unauthorized commercial distribution (as opposed to dojin) and the spoiler of endings; proper attribution to Team Shanghai Alice is a recommendation.[19]

A recommendation which we are following by giving credit to Touhou Project for the [i]Bad Apple!! music and to Pat McCarthy for the remix. I will be using my own lyrics and vocal.

In conclusion, all of the material that we use can be publicly distributed so long as we don't sell it, use hacks, or damage Nexon's reputation. So everything here is legal :)
------------------------
TL;DR - You don't want to be paid but are interested in making the video.

All right. Then you can be involved for "The Love of The Game" and when the video-production is underway and we've chosen the editors then I will send gift donations for "The Love of the Editor". I'll be following this thread closely and preparing the soundtrack vocal :)

Alrighty :) Keep in mind that this MEP takes priority. But, I can edit your video while working on this, but if something comes up here for C2 then that problem or circumstance takes precedence. I hope you can understand. Just keep me posted.
