Well, I didn't get to film any reactions either time.
But the first attempt at showing the final beta (and I did get the credits done as far as identifying the clips, authors, etc) wasn't representative enough because of a small crowd due to us being scheduled opposite Masquerade line-up.
The night crowd was far more receptive and responded better.
All the explosions landed.
The "Haruhi Blows Up" was a shock to everyone.
I forgot to fix the audio for the "Fluffy" clips but people heard it anyway.
But you'll see when Sammy uploads the video.

And I didn't know what was meant by a "stuttering" effect on "Dokuro Boom" until I saw it on the big screen so I'll fix that too.

Speaking of uploads, here's what I showed (in mpeg2, of course):

Erm....minor thing...you credited How to Train Your Charizard to SammySamma...that one's mine
Dunno if it was intentional or not put you also left out mentioning the AMVS6 teaser in the credits.

Other then that...the credits are kind of hard to read over top of almost everybody's tag. You also forgot to put the test pattern between the American dad clip and the Chobits one. The first part of the audio of the Gundam one at the end is totally cut off.

Thanks for changing the Robot Unicorn one back though. ^_^

Hehe, yeah, the Haruhi Blows Up one was one I can say made me most nervous and happy to include, because it completely violates like... everything ^^ I kind of like that it was such an unknown. Minor risk for potentially great reward. What type of surprise would you say, awkward surprise or funny surprise?

Anyway, yeah, I can't believe you didn't notice what I was talking about with the Dokuro-chan clip ^^ It really hurt to watch because of that. My eyes are sensitive, but I knew people would be distracted by it, even if subconsciously.

And the fluffy audio being updated is a necessity I think. Friends of mine who knew the movie couldn't understand it in my apartment, let alone a room with echoes, so the more we can do with that, the better. Great that they heard it though.

Looking forward to seeing the reaction vid.

We should all do a quick run through the credits to make sure everything's accurate as well.

EDIT:

Oh god, hell yeah they'd be surprised. There's NO way that the Haruhi Blows Up clip should be in the first half ^^ It's not a clip that'll work if the audience is not warmed up, not at all. Also, I'll do a full credit correction tomorrow, but it needs to be the full: Excerpt from "Youtube Poop: Haruhi Blows Up." Not just Haruhi Blows Up.

I'll do a full check on new clip arrangements tomorrow, but aside from Moonbunnychan's comments, that clip definitely belongs somewhere later, otherwise nobody will be prepared for it at all.

Oh, and also just noticed in the credits that it says "Key Jewelers Ad". It's Kay. lol. And the name of the song in Touch me is "Memory", not "touch me".

This may sound weird, but I laughed at the credits. I didn't know what a number of my videos would be called.

Corrections:
-It's Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo (Strangely "Gankutsuou" can come before or after "The Count of Monte Cristo" but the word should be in there)
-The first Tanoshii Moomin Ikka (the longer one) should be "Snorkwhore part 1" and sucky sucky should be "Snorkwhore Part 2"

My goodness Moonbunnychan has been busy! 17 clips |:>

Now I'm Done! ^_~

I was pretty relieved when I realized both you and SammySama also made about as many, I was feeling sort of guilty for "hogging" it.

As for the credits being sort of unreadable though I think just adding a black outline to the white letters would probably help quite a lot. Or if that doesn't do the job just shrinking down the tags a bit and putting them to the mostly blank right side.
I also noticed you didn't credit whoever made that Gundam one.

I don't know why, but seeing just "car alarm" for the audio source in the credits made me laugh.

This year it's safe to say that if you're not sure who did it... it's moonbunnychan :D

Anyway, I don't have a ton of time right now to talk about it, I got even MORE animations to work on... I may just have to finally admit I'm actually a pretty good animator if they keep giving me this much work -_- I really really want to do the Stein clip, but it's looking even more hazy whether I'll have the time. But I'm not going to give up until Wednesday if I can get things done by then.

Either way, before the reaction vid, a list of things I noticed that some have already been mentioned.

Spoiler :
Haruhi Blows Up: As I mentioned above, the full credit needs to be: (Excerpt from "Youtube Poop: Haruhi Blows Up") and also like I mentioned above, the audience just isn't going to be ready for something that random that early on. We definitely have to warm them up for something like that. This is definitely a second-half clip. I guess you decided not to use Hair Back and Forth? I really did love that one as a transition out of Muppet Babies though... damn. Anyway, I suggest moving the Haruhi Blows Up clip to right after Toys R Us. Some reason the idea of the commercial for toys, then little Imouto happily blasting Kyon in the face seems like it'll work well together :) If this happens, I suggest switching Friend on the Other Side and 1800 Contacts to mix up humor, so the order would end up Toys R Us, Haruhi Blows Up, Friends on the Other Side, 1800 Contacts. This way if there IS laughter for Haruhi Blows Up, transformation central's first couple lines can pad it. Does this work for everyone?
In its place, I really want to get back Hair Back and Forth, but an alternative short clip could be breast miniatures or Swiper no Swiping? They fit where they are though... any ideas?
Fluffy: Already mentioned. Just have to make sure all the fluffy clips are re-sent to you with the updated audio.
Dokuro-chan: Mentioned above, that jittering is the only real issue.
Chobits: Lack of test pattern already mentioned. But should it be right next to my USA one? Quick shift suggestion:
-Switch Chobits with Funky Town right next to it. Same with Leprechaun and My Buddy. That way it'll go USA, Funky Town, Chobits, My Buddy, then Leprechaun. Sound good everyone?
After Any Last Words explosion: This shouldn't be a fade I think, this should be a test pattern. We cut to the credits on a test pattern last year, that would work stronger I think.
Robot Unicorn: If you want to keep the small explosion, I won't argue. But do you think you could move the explosion to the right where he collides with the star and then just cut him out on that same frame? Because right now he continues to run into and through the explosion, and I think that's why I wanted the full screen explosion, because it felt off. In the game, he explodes on contact, in this the star explodes, and that's always struck me as feeling off, I just couldn't tell what it was until now. Does that make sense? Would you be willing to give it a try? I think that'll make it even stronger.
Gundam Fail: Yeah, not sure why you cut off that line. This time though I heard the right place to cut to that clip. After that high-pitched "Aaaaaah" right after the credits go off screen, there's that sort of pre-explosion explosion that ends at almost exactly 26:41. Fade that sound out before the next explosion noise happens, then cut right into the Gundam clip. No fading whatsoever. That should do the trick. And do NOT overlap the music with the clip, that will not work.
Credit for last clips: I don't know if it'd work to credit the last two clips in the credits, moonbunnychan. It'll kind of give away our jokes, won't it? Last year the last Haruhi Geico Money one was left out as well. What if perhaps Deuce could put a low-opacity 'moonbunnychan' in the corner so it's noticable for those looking for it, but not distracting to the actual joke so you had a sort of watermark on it? Sound reasonable?
Last three clips: Still feel like we could switch these around for some stronger clips to finish on. I love them all, but the Slappy Squirrel one doesn't really have any type of climax or punchline that grows throughout the clip. What do people think of switching this one with my Leprechaun one? I keep going back to that first beta when all my clips were at the end, and somehow they felt stronger near the end. (If we do switch this, you can keep My Buddy where it is from my first comment) I don't want to make a unilateral decision about my own clip though, so I want to hear what you all think.
speaking of which:
Leprechaun: How was the audio in the room? I still am nervous about this clip being too low. I can raise the volume but this is already normalized, I'd be nervous about quality. But I CAN raise the volume and keep it from spiking, even if it might distort the audio a bit. Everyone think I should?
Credits: Agreed with moonbunnychan, you should probably stroke the white text with a 1 or 2 pixel black line (whichever works). But I have to go one further and say that the font you chose for the titles ends up being a bit difficult to read sometimes. Can you try out a clearer font with better shape definition? It's an okay font, I just wonder if there's one that allows the words to be read quicker, since the credits are going a bit faster this year.
ENDING CLIPS: This is the weakest part of our production by far. Our generally blank credits. We have nothing to keep the people in the seats after the first ten-twenty seconds, and after last year, I think they'll feel a bit jipped by that. Have you considered a way to edit down the explosion song and put my Gundam Fail under the credits a few seconds in? Unlike last year, where my Haruhi one worked as a continuation, we don't really have anything else that could count as a continuation that wouldn't just be there for the sake of being there. Any thoughts? You guys were there for the credits, even if it won't be on the reaction vid, so your observations are what matters.

We'll see how the reaction vid goes and if anything else crops up.

From the second showing (those who were not familiar with the salad production) most people began to leave, I think one of the reasons that (well those around me anyway) stayed through the credits is because of my big mouth  I made the comment of "Why is everyone leaving before the big ending?" and the group on either side of me just kinda looked at me and sat back down. lol. but they seemed to love it. We do need something in the credits though, to keep even those who aren't familiar from just going, "oh credits. Time to leave".

We have a few days to potentially MAKE some last-minute clips though. They have to specifically be made with the fact that they're credit clips in mind, which is different than all the others in our production. I'm sure some of us have some small ideas that could work for a few seconds. Not sure if we can make exceptional ones, but perhaps something fun? Maybe I could bring back pedobear, but I don't know where I'd put him ^^

I've got so much work to do, I wish I could focus on it, but I really can't promise anything. I know you all have already made so many clips, but... do we have a couple more quick ones in us?

Any clip ideas anyone have that we can talk about getting into the credits? Bring them up here, we can have a discussion while we get the final edits into the current production. We have three full days. If I have to make a choice between my Stein clip and an ending clip, I can, but there's a possibility I'll be working until Thursday night just on this freelance work. My Gundam clip feels like the only one that can be put in the credits and not be out of place because it follows the explosion motif and the ending theme ironically. If I had to choose now, I'd say that that one should be the one that goes 10-15 seconds in. That should be what we shoot for. Some type of continuation or relatedness to the main theme or production. Once that's established, we could have a more random clip, but it still has to feel like an 'afterthought' style clip I think.

Think of the production like a sentence and you can sort of feel into the clips and which ones feel like punctuation and which ones feel like openers, etc. Last year, the pedobear one really worked in the credits, better than anyone imagined I think.

The closest to the pedobear in timing and setup is the Bakemonogatari one, and the Chobits one. They may be a bit long for the credits though. All the other clips in the production feel like they belong in the main production to me.

Anyway, thinking out loud. Anyone have any thoughts on some good, quick clips that would be 10-15 seconds for a punchline at most? Perhaps Deuce could move the Gundam one and the Chobits one into the credits and only render them out and post them as a test and see what happens?

we could do something kind of like a few clips for a blooper reel...

EDIT: Okay, I've got that shrinking program going...but if it doesn't work (Idk what it's doing ATM...) Moonbunny has kindly offered her FTP hosting for me ^_^ the files are a bit smaller now since I had to convert them from MOV to Mpeg but if it won't work we'll have to deal with the larger files. For that I am sorry...:(
