We definitely have no Stein, much less Soul Eater, in this thing so go forth and represent. ;)
And I'll have at least two "walking" scenes tonight.

we could have comment card for if anyone knows of any and then have them put their name/nickname on it and sort of have a added "thanks to" in the credits for those who helped find clips...

Moomin = Prostitute Hippo

Moomin is only obscure in the states, it's probably better known worldwide than any anime (except possibly Pokemon).... it has a theme park. I've seen the comics sold in Barnes & Noble, so for the intended audience it may be obscure, but not overwhelmingly so.

The reason why I wouldn't cut the longer Moomin one is that the theme is getting lost among non-themed clips but I don't want the impact of the "Sucky Sucky" one to be lost either. It could be cut to "I hope to bear many illegitimate children into abject poverty" and go after "Sucky, Sucky"... dunno if that would help, or lose the joke.

Oh, I wasn't for cutting either really, and nothing's wrong with the prostitute one I guess, but I really do like the Sucky Sucky one better because of how I first saw it. I know your intention was to have it be a connected series of clips, but until you said that, I never thought that way, and I don't think anyone else will since the audio is different. It takes too much thought to connect the prostitute clip with the cartman clip, so I don't think anyone will be consciously doing that. It's just I was so in love with the out-of-nowhere Cartman coming from this little hippo that fit far better than I could have imagined ^^ With the prostitute clip before it, it no longer is out of nowhere. Plus I want to go back to the first beta and see what clip was before it, because maybe the clip before it really set it up well to be as funny as it could be as well.

Btw, this might be answered before, but will someone make another reaction video?
I loved the one of amvs4 and watched it several times. Actually, I prefer watching it to the 'normal' download.

Oh yes, absolutely, that's my goal this year. I watched it as well, more than I probably should have ^^ At Otakon at the very least, I will be certain to get another reaction vid. I wanted one for AMVS3 and 4 again to see how it holds up through a second audience showing, but I don't know if we'll get the chance to play them again. Scott got an influx of a lot of stuff. My hope this year is we get a reaction vid from two different angles since everyone else said the reactions around them were totally different.

Gaelstrom - There is a ton of footage of people on the phone in Hetalia, actually (yes I am to blame for that motivator). Many times, looking exasperated. Lithuania does this a lot, but there are others as well... I can find specific episode numbers soon; right now I work from mostly DVD files, which aren't split up into separate episodes... not to mention it's a pain in the ass to find specific episodes with Hetalia because they're all only five minutes long. I will be on the lookout for them though. Is there a specific character you want on the other end of the line?

That's a good point about parody anime. I guess run it by AWA and see what happens? I have a feeling the Angry Beavers nostalgia factor alone may carry that one... especially for people in their early to mid 20s. That's the good thing about the Happy Meal theme - there are a lot of clips in there that didn't really hit the nostalgia note with me but were obviously well-done and will hit the nostalgia note with a lot of others.

I didn't see It's a Small World in the latest beta, though - were you thinking it was? Unless I'm not actually watching the latest beta... I could be losing my mind, or I could have been browsing this thread at 2:30 AM and not really retaining a whole lot. >_>

Gaelstrom wrote:*Fap: By far, much much better :D That was quite funny it's now a favorite of mine! Love the new addition too, definitely makes it far stronger in every way. I have two thoughts for this. Get rid of the Beano portion, that's not changed in being nowhere near as funny as the Tenchi portion. Second, I'd even propose separating this into two clips a few minutes apart. Like cut it off at the end of the measure of music when she goes :awesome: and then later on after more clips, come in playing from the beginning of that music again, but just show the second part with him sweating, and cut it off prematurely so it can't even complete the measure of music. Understand what I mean? I'm not sure I'm being clear.

I totally agree actually, I decided to leave in the beano one as a time separator to do the whole "10 hours later" gag. But separating them into two different clips can work just as good, if not better.

SammySamaProductions wrote:-4chan memes: OMG! MUCH BETTER! *claps* Very well done. I think it's much funnier this way! Thank you ^_^

I'm glad you liked the new version a whole lot better. It was something I made a long time ago and wasn't sure what to do with. I sent it in a long time ago too and after reading recent comments here the other week, I looked at it and was like "yeah, this wasn't that good other than the first gag" and hence I felt I needed to redeem the funny on it. So my apologies to all for falling off the bandwagon with this thread.

I had offered to do one for AMA this weekend but no one really said if they wanted me to. If this is a good idea let me know how you guys want me to distribute it...

What are you talking about? We all asked you to ^^ I know I did at least. Both you and Deuce. I specifically asked you about doing it from the audience if you weren't on the panel with him. So in case it's not obvious, YES! PLEASE! Get a reaction video ^^

:ying: Okay...just wasn't sure if we had switched to requesting one for Otakon or not, got a bit confused with everything over here that has been going on. No, as far as I know I won't be on panel (prefer it that way too ^_^ not much of a "at the front of crowds person). But yes, I can see (and have talked to Deuce about this just a moment ago too) why a video from the front and the audience would be beneficial.

Distribution wise, if it's small enough I thought I could post it to MegaVideo and have everyone download it. Or I could post it to facebook and post the link here for everyone to watch...If we had Wifi at the con hotel/convention center I could probably even live stream it through skype but I don't know if you have to pay for more than one user to access a video chat...but that would be a neat idea no?

I had a thought for the tail end of the credits.
Like the "Gundam Fail" fades in over the quiet explosion at the very end, cutting the final loud explosion completely out with "Yikes and away..." and after all the failed button presses the last shot of the Gundam has a "AMV Salad 6...coming in summer 2012" graphic around it, and then the final "...sh**!"
Whaddya think?

Sorry Deuce, we can't do that, remember? Scott has issues with people overstepping him and declaring the future of the fanparodies without him. Even if that's not the case, I don't think we need to do that anymore. It actually worked with the Geico money because it was a beautiful connection, but we don't have that this time sadly, so I don't believe it's necessary.

As for cutting out the quiet explosion, I think that'll work well and save us a few seconds. Don't cut it too close though, it'll be a stronger start if we give the audience a second or two to think it's done. But I don't think fading them together will work as well as you might think. The 'yoiks and away' starts rather abruptly. So maybe fading out the quiet explosion quicker will be the best course of action to save some time and get to the clip.

Well, it would only say "Summer 2010" and not Otakon.
If it happens at Otakon, it's a happy coincidence.
If not, it will premiere on a similarly large stage somewhere else noteworthy but it will come out in Summer 2012.
So I wouldn't be making any promises for Scott and not implying there won't be another AMVS next year.

But I just saw the teaser that was made so I guess we don't need to go that route.

I'll also fix it so none of the explosions are heard but there's also a smooth transition between the end of the song and the beginning of the clip.
