GIF animation(how do I?)

Post by 76 » Mon Oct 13, 2008 11:15 am

I know this has been asked BUT

How do I make an animation using the gimp or some other software?(I don't have PS)

I have like, forty little images that I want to make into frames for an animation but I have no clue as to where to start.

get the latest virtualdub and you can export clips as a gif.

I guess that doesn't help for the type of gifs you want to make.

I'm not to sure about good free gif editing software.

You can also try to put the clips together in a video editing software to make it a movie then export it, then put it in vdub and then export it from there.

I think you can also put pics side by side in avisynth if you use the right script.

I forget the exact process in GIMP, but basically, every layer will be a separete frame, starting from the bottom and going up, so if you want to make your gif from a series of short pictures, just layer them up and export.

Base image>file>open as layers, choose next frame

or

if you already have the next frame open in another window just copy/paste. Just don't anchor/merge down layer

You could always resize it to 90x90 or 80x80, though I don't think it would help much

You can post it and ask someone to compress it if they can.
