This anime has almost caught up to the manga, which is in the middle of the arc the anime is just about to start. I have a feeling they're gonna have to throw in some fillers somewhere or else they'll overtake the source material pretty soon and then they'll have to make fillers anyway heh.

Resurrecting this thread after 2 years with the start of the second series 
I very much like the new animation style, definitely better than the first season which looked a little to kiddy friendly. The opening is good and there is going to be some awesome action coming up.
That said, I think this new season will be a lot shorter than the first one. Season 1 covered chapters 1-297 and the manga is currently at chapter 379, so it's going to catch up pretty quickly, probably in a little over a year.

So anybody been reading the manga recently? I'm up to date on the newest chapter and this new arc has a lot of story that will be playing out. Not going to spoil it, but I'm looking forward to the decisions that are going to have to be made.

still reading the manga, not quite as good as before with the end of the last arc but I'm liking the reset and time jump so things could pick up.
as for the anime, it only goes to the end of the magical tournament and is then just a ton of fillers, not really worth watching past that arc.
