Forced drama

Hey, I'm a hopeless romantic kind of guy. I'll admit it was a forced drama at the end. It felt kind of awkward and could have been pulled off a lot better. Clannad was a better drama and shook up more emotions that Toradora ever did.
Clannad doesn't have shit on this:

I am NOT happy with 25, not at all.

Look, Nagisa didn't really die, it's safe to get married damn it.

Arrrggghhh I wanted them to end married, not whatever the heck it was that happened.

It leaves an open ending. But since there is no way to make a good sequel... But they left out the marriage cause then it would become a cheesy shoujo ending.

I agree, no died and then undied and there were no babies born. Clearly a nice romance, but not as good as Clannad.

Maybe if they have that extra season there's still a chance she can die in childbirth too :) (well she IS small eh, it isn't easy for small women so I am told).

But if they did then it would simply be a ripoff of Clannad, then it'd probably evolve into a cliche.

I prefer these more down to earth storylines like toradora. You can watch toradora and relate to it cause its an actual possibility in real life (Which is why KGNE is my favorite drama to date). While losing your wife and only daughter is a real possibility, they chose to have the miracle ending in which time reverses and they stay alive. Not only is that cliche but you can't really relate to it. I seriously would of preferred the epic drama ending in clannad with tomoya a complete miserable wreck over that miracle happy ending but that's just me.

Anyway this show > clannad IMO.

It's definitely one of my fav romance comedies, there is drama but its few and far between. Reminds me a lot of lovely complex.

If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to public liberty. What country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned [...] that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants."-Thomas Jefferson

Ok you suck. That was the ending they used in the movie (Nagisa stays dead but Ushio doesn't die). AND in the game the TRUE Ending is the ending where Nagisa doesn't die. In the game it's not so much turning back time as it is simply replaying the After Story with an alternate (or rather true) ending unlocked.

K first of all saying I suck just cause I expressed my opinion is kiddish. When I said "show" I was talking about the actual TV <b>show<b>. Why your bringin the movie and game into this is beyond me. I realise the movie ended differently. I actually enjoyed the movie ending thoroughly. Too bad I wasn't talking about the movie / game in the first place duh.

I realise the anime probably wouldnt end the way I was hoping because it was just following a path from the game but that doesn't mean my opinion of it has to be different. It is what it is. I like stories that are plausable from a reality perspective when it comes to drama and romance. Clannad was one of them up till the end.

IMO Toradora ftw nuff said.

I know what you're probably thinking, the game storyline isn't the great then or something like that. YOu cannot say that unless you have actually played the game.

Clannad Game is 100X > the anime.

Actually I had not wtached clannad after story before posting that, but even after watching clanad, my comment still stands, only that clannad is right up there with it. I like both for different reasons, but as purely a "aww thats so cute" romance story, Toradora takes the cake for me. There are far more "aww" and "cute" moments between Taiga and Ruiji than with Nagisa and dude whos name escapes me atm. Athough ushio was hella cute also, Clannad was more about the family issues than just romance. That being said, I did enjoy both just about equally and are my favorites of this year so far.

There are far more dramatic and tear inducing moments in Clannad.
Spoiler :
I cried when Fuko dissappeared. When Akio rushed in yelling at Nagisa during the play. When Nagisa died. When Ushio died. When Nagisa came back. And there were many other tear jerking and watery eye moments.

Your missing the point, I'm refering to cute aww romance moments, not dramatic moments. I said it was my fav romance story, not drama story ;p

I like Nagisa, but Taiga is just way cuter than nagisa like:
Spoiler :
When she saved riuji at the pool and blurted out her awkward Ruiji is mine, stay away from him! thing, when riuji pretended to be santa (cutest taiga moment eva), the sports meet eps where her dad didn;t show and ruiji beat all the other guys to give her the crown... all dressed up for the cristmas song scene.... just to name a few
all aww taiga is too cute moments, not sad teary eyed dramatic moments. we comparing totally different things here ;p

one thing about clannad:
Spoiler :
I actually think the nagisa comming back part was more confusing than dramatic. although part of me is happy they are all alive and good in the end, it Probably would've made for a more realistic and powerfull ending to keep nagisa dead and have ushio survive. I wouldve realy hated clannad if they killed off both of them tho.
