This show started off slower, but it had really awesome character development. Especially Ami...I really didn't like her at all in the beginning and liked Minori, but at the end I liked Ami way better. It's refreshing to see a show do this nowadays.

I watched the anime, but it wasn't memorable for me. Really... this anime was just... bleh. An ok anime, overall.

I supported the Ryuuji x Taiga pairing since the beginning, but the end kind of ruined it for me. Sure, I was like :o @ the kiss scene and stuff, but then didn't Ryuuji say something like "I wants to marry yew nao!"?
I don't remember it all that well. It was just a... yeah, not memorable.

Toradora up until the last episode was really good. The final episode REALLY disappointed me. I was happy about the Ryuuji x Taiga kiss, but yeah, I mean what happened to them marrying each other? Why did Taiga switch schools?! o_0 So confusing. ><
I wish the ending was better, but otherwise, it as good.

I had to watch episode 25 twice in a row to make sure, particularly the part when Taiga returns to her apartment. Her note to Ryuuji (which she narrates starting at about 10:20) explains why. To clarify...
Spoiler :
Taiga basically decided that just like Ryuuji (and Yasuko), she should face her problems instead of running away like she always does. She needed to change herself and the circumstances in her life. So she went to stay with her real mother and her (new) family. That's why she transferred to another school.

Eloping would be running away for the both of them. When they were riding the train, Taiga mentioned Yasuko including the three of them as her family. Ryuuji realized that his running away with Taiga really hurt Yasuko. Hence Yasuko leaving the apartment before Ryuuji got there to get his things--she ran away from Ryuuji and Taiga before they could run away from her. Likewise, Yasuko running away from her parents when she was younger probably hurt them a lot too. And Ryuuji's father ran away too--from Yasuko and the unborn Ryuuji. Taiga's father ran away when things went bad (as always), and I suppose she wanted to break the cycle, like Ryuuji did.

In fact, I would guess this is the central theme of the series. I mentioned Yasuko already. Minori was running away from her feelings for the entire series until the very end. Ami was running away from the stalker, her real self, and then at the end she wanted to run away from everyone else (before Ryuuji changed her mind). Maruo was also running away from his real (oddball) self, from confessing his love to the (then) student council president, and from his responsibilities. Even the former student council president wanted to run away rather than answer Maruo's confession. Every major character 'grew up' at the end of the series, facing their feelings and resolving their problems like real adults instead of staying children and running away. Ryuuji at one point calls Ami, Yasuko, and even himself a child. I can't remember, but he might have said that about Maruo and Taiga too.

To truly be worthy of Ryuuji's love, Taiga had to be able to not rely on him for everything. She herself had to grow up. That's why she left when she did. So Ryuuji or Yasuko wouldn't be able to stop her or change her mind. Even Ryuuji realizes that it was best that way since if Taiga can believe in him, he should believe that she can work out her own problems by herself.

I wonder if anyone had an episode of Fridge Brilliance since the last episode aired to now. Based on the comments posted by most everyone, a lot of people feel the same way about episode 25 as you do. I hope I've changed your opinion about the last episode. IMO, ep.25 was the best of the lot.

Ok, that helped a lot! That's very true, thanks for posting that explanation! Yes, I believe my view has been changed on the final episode now. ^^

Haha! x2 His OCD is hilarious :D I love it when he first visited Taiga's apartment.

I was watching the 14th ep again just as a random sitting and Ryuu is like inspecting all the windows and crap in the opening lol my god -_-.

I also love the part where the teacher is fuming about being unwed again and Ami casually compliments her sweater and the teacher breaks down in tears ^_^ I'm sorry but that is just SO real, part of the thing that makes great anime shows great. I should rewatch more of it.

Remember the thing I liked most was Minorin and her family issues. They never went into that and did the same thing in Bakumanagatari... but at least there's gonna be a Baku 2 (assuming). This is just not fare.

Maybe now, you know, the catalog will finally have the correct title.

Thank you! I hated that Tiger X Dragon title, it ruined the whole play on words thing they had doing on, and just sounded lame. :/

Thank you.

The thing that got me was that the other title wasn't even used by the vast majority of fans. Stuff like the Toaru series actually do have instances of groups/fans using the translated (A Certain...) titles - the only ones who possibly could use Tiger X Dragon were those who looked at the Chinese (Hong Kong or Taiwan, I can't remember) release...and why would we be looking there?

As far as I could remember, the official policy was to use either the official English domestic title, or the original transliterated Japanese title if the English didn't exist. Not unofficial English titles or ones used in a non-English market 90+ % of the users of this site don't fall under. That was what made it infuriating/annoying. Of course, if there's a post that documents this change feel free to point me to it - but I distinctly remember the whole thing about the catalog over Kimi ga Nozomu Eien vs. Rumbling Hearts, and that was when I thought the previous policy of only using official titles was clarified, and then otherwise falling back on the transliterated Japanese. At least that way it'd be consistent, and easy to correct, instead of playing chase-the-title.
