At first I was like "WTF THERE IS THIS GIRL WALKING UP ON A WINDY ROOFTOP AND I DONT GET TO SEE PANTIES BUT YET I SEE THAT KINDA VIOLENCE AND GORE?! WHAT IS THIS SHIT?" but then it got to the ice cream scene and I was satisfied.

there were some really well done animations, but the overall look was rather "meh-ish", should have rather had some more love overall, than OMGILOVEYOUMUCH in just a few scenes.

I was left with a big Question mark in my face after that first DVD, now I'm waiting to get more of this, because I wanna turn that QM into an EM...

The second movie is titled "Murder Speculation (First Half)" which is based on Chapter 2 of the novel, and it's actually better paced. And I seriously give props to ufotable; the animation, the backgrounds, and cinematography give off one heck of a gritty environment, and they really know how to up the creepy factor.
Chronologically, this movie takes place before the first one as it deals with Mikiya first meeting with Shiki. There's also string of murders that's been occurring in which Mikiya suspected her. But of course he didn't want to turn her in even though it was painfully obvious. He believes there's a good side in her as his day in the mall with her proved. It's also revealed that Shiki does have a split personality within her.
On another note,
has anyone find it amusing for Mikiya humming the old classic "Singin' in the Rain"?

And as for the ufotable's claymation segment, don't record stuff in the movie theaters! :o

I've been meaning to get around to watching this but I was busy finishing off other series. Will be watching within the next few days.

In the meantime, here's an awesome wallpaper for it.

Episode 2 is pretty good. More background information on Shiki and Kokouto's relationship is explored and other things come to light. If you liked Clannad, you'll like this episode a lot.

Okay, so I just watched both episodes. Episode one was just awesome. Episode two wasn't as good in my opinion. It just seemed to drag on, but it gave some more back ground information about them both, so that is a good thing. But I totally approve of this series.
Now for the episode three wait...

Finished 1 & 2

And... that fight scene... was too fucking impressive, the visuals and audio were both really well done, it left me in awe.

But... it pales in comparision to the ice cream scene...

Ice... cream...

Here's a nice high res piccy of Shiki with the ice cream o3o

#3 looks like it's gonna have some more epic fight scenes.

Apparently, the first 3 movie releases are 'out of order' and the last 3 in the series will be chronological...

Which is why the 2nd movie is prequel to the first... :?

The third movie is titled "Remaining Sense of Pain", and this is probably the one movie I actually enjoyed quite a bit. And not to mentioned, this is by far the most violent and sexually disturbing Kara no Kyokai movie so far!
This movie introduces Fujino Asagami in which throughout most of the beginning of the movie, she has got beatened and raped by a bunch of druggies. Obviously at that moment, she snapped and went on a killing spree against those guys one by one with her special power to bend. The concept of pain and what it means to feel pain was pretty much the big theme of this particular movie.

Though I found it amusing that throughout the movie in which that Fujino felt pain in her stomach was actually appendicitis, and as Touko said it was one giant misunderstanding. And with it, Shiki's arm and a bridge collapsing had to be the casualties of Fujino's actions.
Claymation moment of the day, don't smoke in the theaters! And I LOL'ed at Rin Tohsaka's and Illya's cameos on the silver screen.
