*palm to face*

I don't think there is anything redeemable about this anime. It doesn't have any solid grounding on humor or satire, unless the whole anime is the satire, to which I'd have to say that I don't get it.

The characters have their memorable traits, and maybe the anime will expand on them as it goes on, provide more background and depth, but there's a disconnect somewhere. Furthermore, worthwhile child psychology and analysis doesn't seem to have entered into any part of the anime yet. It's been a lot of play at shock-and-awe with a few sentimentally designed plots thrown in, but they fail to integrate and immerse the sequences in a convincing way.

It sounds like you're right. Perhaps I'm being too critical of the anime when it's only been 7 episodes. I've been reading up on the manga to see where the story is going. if the director maintains a certain level of accuracy to the manga, the anime will become very heavy and dark. Perhaps not as heavy and darkas in Elfen Lied, maybe more narrative as in NGE, but it's still a lot of things to think about.

I have to say that this series has created one hell of a controversy recently (of course Anime News Network took the biggest hit in this issue; god, that was a very ugly mess in the forums back then :x). Seven Seas was supposed to release the manga sometime this year, but the sketchy content made the retailers rather bothered so Seven Seas canceled their production. And also a lot of the Japanese TV broadcasters that were suppose to show the anime outright cancelled it, and the few that did show it were showing it with a lot of content censored. It makes me wonder if the DVDs are going to be uncensored and such.

One thing for sure. The chances of this coming to the R1 market are horrifically slim to none unless some company is willing to open up a can of worms. :|

I grabbed the first ep a while back because I had no clue what it was. I tried watching it but it is not my cup of tea. I have a question though, did I see Pedobear in the OP? If so then lolz.

.. Ep 09 .. well, that confirms it; an idea I had when this fall season first started -- that every Anime released was all programmed by the same writer/computer-program!

.. at first I didn't want to see that the "connection" was true, considering how slow this season started, then when every series "now has" a death, murder, personal injury and/or Witch -- it can only be concluded that ever series this fall season of 2007 has been pre-programmed by one author!
.. Rin's affections for her teacher are on a scale closer to a Mother wanting to embrace and protect her child. Rin, while in her teachers apartment, finally "gets' the connection between her teacher and the teacher next class room over as being potentail lovers.
.. will Rin resort to launching her Rival down the stairs when that teacher isn't even aware that Rin is right behind her .. or .. òó something else ....
.. I've never read the Manga on this series, but Episode 11 puts Rin on the spot with her guardian; something nobody should have to face ( even if they don't recognize the Signs )

Episode 11 is VERY loosely based on the manga. It looks like the director/writers went out of their way to dramatize the lock-in event, which was not necessary given what's coming up if the manga is any indication. The anime team should really stick to the gradual plot growth and conflict points presented in the manga, otherwise it's really going to come off as being a paranoia wreck. There's no need for a Nice Boat ending.

I would have to say the newer chapters are a bit unsettling. There's a roller coaster of child's play and innocence and then out of no where, the mangaka makes a big molestation scene and all the drama that it entails.

The anime is definitely getting ahead of itself.

.. I kinda figured as much; something didn't quite seem right with a child wanting to push a teacher down a flight of stairs & there was no reason for Reiji to become psychotic.
.. In the beginning, covering-things-up and blanking-out-words was cute ( to a point )

.. hmm .. I wonder who will stop doing the series first; the translators or the TV Stations!?! .. hehe .. School Days was dealing with Teenagers, this series is set on pre-teens ....

Chapter 34 was quite a bit of drama. Also, hyperactive/alert Adults!
