i recommend it especialy for TRigun fans. Yasuhiro Nightow and Tsuneo Imahori worked on it.
"Chills, chills come racing down my spine like a storm on my skin, with shaking hands, I'll guide your sweet soul into mine, until I feel you within. And I know, I know that it's all about understanding am I hidden inside your beautiful soul as it's crying for love to conquer the day slowly dawning, I want you to know you're the heart of my temple of thought."

I liked it a lot, but the BIG flashback gets you confussed at first.
Because, you watch the first episode and you hope to see that kind of action the whole anime; after then you see the flashback, and you think, "yeah, flashback, nice"...like four episodes after you start guessing that isn't a flashback. And three or four episodes later you don't care if that's a flashback or not XD
But, really, it's a series that really gets you; it has friendship, betrayal, love, mafia and fantastic battle scenes. ^o^

No.

Just no.

I forced myself to watch through the entire series, and it never got good! It only had a few times in it that were interesting, all of which are too spoilery to say.

And really, I just never connected to the characters. Especially not Brandon, nor his situation.

I did however appreciate the childhood memories. That was a nice touch.

But this anime, I dont care how much people praise it; it is below average.

Horrible story telling and awful characters. Made me want to sleep.

Good for you, but this is actually pretty darn mediocre compared to other animes.

At least we got to see a pig fly in the anime. Woot? (referring to the video game episodes at the end)

The anime was silly and boring. It tried to be deep and profound but it just failed.

Only decent character was Harry but even he they couldn't keep interesting for longer amounts of time.

fine, fine...now drift away...nobody wants you here

@Dark Seraphim: I'm glad for you. Mine was Trigun and the characters there.
Can't wait for the next project of Nightow&Imahori

It was a good flashback, not like the LOST. That whole series should be called FLASHBACK. In Gungrave it's been done, now let go finish off the bastards :D

Sheesh. How narrowminded >.> Why cant I state my opinon if you can state yours?

Just because I don't like it, my thoughts are worth less? O.o

Way to be mature. And you so obviously win the internet.

And really, comparing LOST to Gungrave in form of flashbacks;
half the series in Gungrave ARE flashbacks, and half the eps in LOST *are* flashbacks.
You're just screwing yourself over with such a statement imo

I hated this series. I can't believe that I managed to watch it all without vomiting. I watched this right around when I watched Tenjou Tenge (which I also hate for similar reasons). I can't remember what order I watched them in. These two series ruthlessly raped my brain, so my memories around this time are fuzzy. But that's beside the point. If you're wondering why I watched the entire series if I hate it so much, it's because I gave it a chance and hoped it would get better. I can't stand it when people pass judgement on something after watching only 1 or 2 episodes and following my own advice I endured all of it. And I really mean endured, because it was torture.

So I watched the first episode one day and from the name of the series and the first episode I was like, "cool, undead cowboy, badass dual wielding pistols. I like dual pistols." But no, it's about organized crime. Then there's monsters (I don't want to spoil it for anyone who might actually be interested in watching Gungrave) Wthat Brandon beats by shooting them, alot. Usually by standing in one static position. Actually, now that I think about it, I kind of liked that fight scene in the lobby. But for the most part, the action just isn't action packed. It's not animated well, it's not interesting, and it's not exciting.

Alright, so the action's not so great. What did I expect from a series with 'Gun' in the title? But action certainly isn't necessary for an anime to be good. Maybe the storyline is interesting. Maybe it'll suck me in and chain me to my chair until the series is over. Man was I disappointed. I could have gotten some good sleep if I didn't have to wake up to start a new episode every 24 minutes. I have to admit that I'm not a big fan of mob movies and that's what I equated this with, a sort of mob anime. I just couldn't get into it. I didn't care what was happening and I couldn't care less about what would happen next, usually because I could see it coming from a mile away.

And the characters? I don't think I've ever connected less with the characters. Don't get me wrong, I didn't hate them. I wish I could say I did, then at least I'd have felt something for these characters.

Well I'm running out of steam and all this reminiscing is painful, so I'll conclude by saying that Gungrave was a god awful anime.

Who or what fails? Does he fail? If so, what does he fail? He certainly failed to enjoy the series. I guess that makes senses. Does his opinion fail? If so, what does it fail? Did it fail to persuade you to dislike the series? I guess that might make sense, and it fails in that respect. I don't understand why you find his opinion so threatening, as if his dislike for the series will somehow ruin your enjoyment of it.

Emphasis on the discussion. This isn't the Gungrave fanclub. This isn't the place where we all bow are heads and speak the praises of Gungrave. Some of us like it, some of us don't. Shocking.

*seconds Blanco22's post*

Indeed! Torture! (Watched the entire thing while hating it. Just like I did with Ragnarok:The animation. Dont watch it people >.< It violates good taste)

Unlike you though I have nothing against gangster and mobs, if done right. But I think I knew from the second that I heard the big boss's name being "Big Daddy" that this would be horrible :/

Nothing was ever compelling either, and it was always "GET ON WITH IT AND DO SOMETHING!!". All the time, I was just waiting for something to interest me.

Last eps were really horrid in the way that it really turned into some freaking Hero beat Bad guy 1, 2, 3, 4 like in games, and it was all so silly. Especially with the flying pig -.-'' *cant get over it*

It's not like I only watch action or anything like that. I appreciate all genres. But this was just too bad in every aspect. I even hated the art. :/ I remember seeing an AMV about Gungrave, and I thought Brandon's chick was a dude (until I saw her with a dress on)

So yeah.
This is bad. I still dont understand why it gets such high ratings.

As one saying goes, i'll translate it roughly; "100 humans, 100 wonders"

It's bound to like by many :D

There are 6mlrd people on this planet. Only a tiny bit is enough to defy you and you can't crush it.

Just because (this is an example) the majority voted for Bush doesnt mean that the majority is synonymous with what is right nor correct :P So therefore, the majority holds little credibility overall. ^^

One should just stick to their own opinion instead of saying "so so many liked it yada yada". Everything differs with each perosns taste anyhow.
