Lucky Star

Got the dub too, too bad there's an index of translation notes for the unknown Japanese contexts.

Wendee Lee as Konata and Haruhi, gee, is she gonna be like Mary McGlynn?
[voice of every Motoko Kusanagi] or Lia Sargent? [she IS Chun-Li!!]

Otaku makes you a house, so to speak.

The only 'bad' otaku I think are ones who try and force others to watch what they obsess over. There once was a post here of how a DBZ retard fanboy [note, not all DBZ fans are like this, but with a fanbase this large, the number of idiots in them obviously goes up] got into a fight with someone else who wanted to buy Cowboy Bebop.

Congrats on your Shodan. I've got a Nidan in Shorei Goju and some basic training in several other martial arts. I suppose I'm like, mid rank for Aikido and Jujitsu but my core is hitting hard ^_^

I hope you know about karate history as well as how to apply it, otherwise you wouldn't be considered a professor in that field. Yay...

Must find this OAV you people speak of for Lucky Star now...

It's not out yet.

We don't get taught much about the history until we get our shodan (testing this weekend!) I learned a bunch of it in my japanese class at school though.

Well, in Wendee's defense, I think she was chosen because of the Haruhi connection she and Aya have. It's like how Minoru is voiced by himself and Sam Regal because of Taniguchi. In other words, it was for "consistency".

I just wanted to say that I enjoyed the series even though I went into it with very dubious opinion. I couldn't believe that no red line could entertain me through 24 episodes, but I was clearly wrong! This was fun all the way, because of the perfect character design and the god like conversatitions!

Food. That was the most idiotic conversation in the series (see eps 1+2)

Actually that was what roped me in :)
I was sitting there watching and thinking "man this is sure a peculiar series".

But every so often you need something that's just plain odd.

Granted not everyone can watch the inane babble of 4 schoolgirls and find it interesting hehe.
Anime, one of the few things about the internet that doesn't make me hate the internet.
