I was wondering if anyone else noticed that at the end of the episode (not sure which one, but it was early) they show the computer screen Daedalus was working on. It had RE-l written on it, but interestingly enough, there was a ghost outline of a letter around the dash so that it read REAl (possibly spelling REAL?).

Yea I thought that was intended to show that RE-L was not yet complete, or "Real". I could be completely wrong though...
I have a question...
the last person Vincent fights, is that some other version of himself? Who exactly is that?
I'm pretty sure she's called Real in the Japaneese version but Re-l in the International/American version. At least I read something like that somewhere. Perhaps it was the subbing colliding with already written text.

The subtitles I watched had it listed as Rel, then after a while it switched to Real. I think it's supposed to be Real, hence the faded "A" on the monitor.

I just enjoyed the fact that absolutely EVERYTHING was in English other than main characters talking. All the text, characters speaking in the background, everything.

Rather than make a new thread, I will just dig up this one. Sorry if this bothers anyone...

I really want to watch this series, but a friend (amongst other various users on the interweb) tells me the ending isn't very satisfying. I have seen the first episode and the show definately has potential, but I don't want to pay for and waste time watching the whole series and find a mediocre, inconclusive ending. No spoilers please, no need for a description of the ending or anything, I just want to know if it left a bad taste in your mouth... so to speak. ;)

Also, is there an OVA, movie or even sequal in the works as of this moment? That would make a crummy ending slightly more bareable. :P

Ergo Proxy is a show that requires you to think about it. If you've put in the requisite thought, the ending will do well. No, they don't hand you all the explanations, that would defeat a good chunk of the point.

As long as the answers are there, somewhere in the series, I'll be happy.

It's one thing to have to think, it's another if the anime simply doesn't tell you certain important, conclusive details and I'm forced to guess what they meant. Hopefully the latter isn't the case for Ergo Proxy.

I'll be sure to give it a try in the near future (when the rest of the DVDs come out).

Also before I go, I'm just curious, does Ergo Proxy have any kind of significant plot twists? Yes or no will suffice, explanations will just spoil it and I haven't seen enough to even make a guess at what they would be if the answer is Yes.

One of the reasons I loved anime like Trigun and Full Metal Alchemist (my two favorite) so much is they weren't afraid to do things like
kill off main characters
for the sake of making the viewer go "wow, I can't believe that just happened" and they are just that much more interested in seeing what happens next. I don't mean to seem shallow or anything, just figured I'd ask.

Thanks! :)

Well, if you only watched episode 1, I'd say you're in for a plot twister or two.

It's not like the series takes a 180degree turn, but there are some surprises along the way. I guess I didn't tell too much by telling you this.

Yes, if you're willing to watch a show that requires you to think.

I would just like to add that I just finished the last of this series and was thoroughly satisfied,

andI would like to thank the other members for clearing up questions I hadn't even asked yet
