Episode 9 was AWESOME! This episode was full of surprises.
There's more backstabbing treachery, action, we get to see an angelic being and more of the story behind the Escalus tree. Also, Tybalt makes another appearance.
Episode 10 is going to BE amazing if the plot development keeps up with this pace.

I hereby confirm this series' awesomeness :o

I only watched up to ep.4 so far, but looking over my pre-release rantings early in the thread - well, all my fears about this one are gone, and somehow it has not only managed to be good in spite of the looseness of the interpretation (is it even an interpretation) and numerous cliches, it managed to be good BECAUSE of them. That's pretty impressive in itself!

Shouldn't Ep 10 be out by now? Was there a programming reschedule or is umai dropping the ball w/ their subbing?

The only potentially subbed 10 I can see is an rmvb by [OUR] group. 11 is out by the same group. I don't know if it's subbed , i was hoping UMAI or another group could release an avi or mkv.

there's not a lot of activity at their forums and i don't think there are enough ppl for them to actively sub three anime series

I see. And here DOKool had me all worried about possible C&D orders. :P
I loved episode 9... The character development on Juliet is really starting to pick up.

and lo and behold, umai releases episode 10. I guess they just needed more time. 11 should be up shortly.

Loved the "Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo" scene. They fit it very well into the story, it didn't feel out of place at all.

Alone in their youth, inexperience, and ignorance, they did not have the power to change the world, but they could forgive, love, and trust. And so the world turns and the sun shines once more.

Episode ten was quite moving. I was amazed to see Romeo make that speech before the assembly, but it seems as if he's come to a realization that he should not stand on the side and wait until he's inherited his father's title. He's realizing that he should act, that he has his own will, his own ideals. He's growing. Juliet is on the mirroring side. She has the will, the actions, and she's learning the harsh realities of acting brashly.

It's too sad that they're both going to die.

I just caught up on the series.

Great episode, this one. As I understand it, it's also signals the end of the beginning and the beginning of the end for the series. Sad :(

I find watching it very much like a movie. Not a trace of episodic-ness in this one, just 100% storyline and character development. They aren't wasting any screen time in this one.

You know, a thought also crossed my mind that even if you took out all the [backwards-]Shakespeare references, this would still be a great fantasy/adventure/romance series :)

I'm curious how Tybalt's character will be explained, I've my own suspicions over that one.

It's possible they survive. After all, William Shakespeare is a character... they may take the "Shakespeare simply took his inspiration from their story" route.

To tell you the truth, I'm not sure which I'd like to see more. On the one hand, I'm truly coming to love these characters and would hate to see them die.
On the other, a "happily-ever-after" Disney ending would make me physically ill. The tragedy makes the story worth telling...

I'm conflicted. :\

There is a third way. Note some of the mystical elements in the show that have been increasingly hinted at in the last couple of episodes. I bet you anything that the end may be tragic but involve that whole mystical thing rather than the original's plain old ironic suicide...

That's true, I didn't even think of that. "Tree of Life" indeed.... *ponders*
