Despite the supernatural element that's been presented which...
...Karada becomes an adult and Shouko becomes a child,....
the first episode was surprisingly intruguing and very well paced. I found myself curious about what type of relationship Hiro (who suspiciously looks like a gruffer version Yukito from Air TV Laughing) and his ex-girlfriend Shouko used to have. Karada's problem seems like what some ordinary kids have which is wanting to be older sooner and not be treated as a child.

Animation is your standard stuff you expect from J.C. Staff though I really liked the understated backgrounds. It reminded me of the same, calming feeling I used to have when I watched Figure 17 or Zettai Shounen. This goes the same with the BGMs and the OP and ED sequences.

Promising first episode, and hopefully they'll keep up with the drama now since that developement occured at the end of it. Too bad it's sort of underrated right now.

Yeah. Definitely.

It does seem pretty interesting though. I wonder if it's gonna turn out to be more of a comedy or a drama - seems pretty dramatic right now, but I can see where certain "supernatural elements" could become really funny.

THere's something I haven't seen in anime yet, not since UFO Princess...
"Strength lies in action. Let the weak react to me..." - Kamahl, Pit Fighter from Magic: the Gathering
"That is a mistake many of my enemies make. They think before they act. I act before I think!" - Vortigern from Merlin ('98)
"I AM REBORN!" - Dark Schneider Bastard!! OAV

And episode 2 proved that they handled it with finese and "realism". I mean if you're in Karada shoes and you had that incident happening, I bet you would get freaked out about it without being totally overreactive. And man, Karada will turn out one fine lady when she grows up! 8-)

After the 2nd episode, I can't say I'm really that interested in the story. There was a little too much grace and reality in the way they handled the switch, which seemed a little silly to me, since switching ages doesn't happen in reality. I guess I just got kinda pissed at all the characters. I really dislike Karada's older brother.

What kind of older brother doesn't even call the police or something when a little girl is missing for so long? And why was he so mean to her friend? Plus, the haircut makes him look like a creepy stalker, if you ask me.

My vote so far is... Meh.

i'm sure even if it had happened in reality, different people would probably handle it differently depending on their personality. Some would freak out, some would probably think it was cool, though most would probably think they were dreaming or something

The begining of this series realy reminded me of the atmosphere Binbou shimai moonogatari had, though the girls in this series seem to have more deepseated issues than that anime. I'll have to see more to see if I'll be sticking with this one, seems to be moving somewhat slowly so far.

Heard of the Social Welfare Agency? It'll really suck if they get involved if we assume Hiro is the legal guardian for Karada's well being.

Yeah... I kinda thought that. But still, with the haircut.... It's like they're trying to make him really creepy. I wanna know why! I'll just hafta watch more, I guess.

Well, let's put it this way.
Noticed how clean shaven Hiro was when he and Karada first moved in their own apartment in the flashback? Compare it to now, you can say Hiro went through great depths and sacrifices in order to give Karada the essentials she needs. He probably did it to a point that he doesn't give a damn of what he looks like. And not to mention Karada was crying at the fact that she became a "burden" to Hiro because he let himself go like this.

The eps seem rather slow to drag for some reason. I say they use up a LOT of time to show the points they need to make...

I'll stick it through to see what J.C. Staff and company can pull out of their asses..

Well, it was directed by the same guy who directed Lunar Legend Tsukihime, and we all knew how leisurely paced that was.

Supposedly someone went ahead and read the manga of which this anime is based on, and he was caught off-guard at a certain plot point later on. My anticipation has risen at that moment.

I've been trying to find manga scans, raw or otherwise, and no luck so far :(

I thought it was in ep2, but maybe in ep3 ... Hiro DOES say that he called the police about it.

And as was mentioned already -- different people will react differently. Shouko takes it surprisingly well ... which I can see because she comes off as a realist. Her attitude is basically -- this is completely impossible, yet it happened, so I have no choice but to deal with it so theres no use in breaking down about it now.

Karada on the otherhand is still only in 5th or 6th grade atm remember, so she is less mentally equipped to deal with something of this magnitude happening.
