Watching the Eng Dub on [adult swim].
They translated Mikami's "Sakujou!" as "Delete!"

T'would've been better as "Eliminate!" imo.

I hated that too. :x It sounded really lame. I also hate the voices for mello and near (although none of the voices were particularly good those two really annoyed me).

p.s. this is completely off subject but I was just wondering from the way you romanized sakujou if you spelled it that way because you can read hiragana (because of the u character used for words with double o)?

Great Scott! I just saw the last episode, I must say that it was INCREDIBLE! The way that everything was explained was great! It was also a little sad, though, but still... Great ending in my opinion!

One of the least cliched endings out there i reckon, and it earns 5 out of 5 stars for that alone :D

I mean, it's a much better change to the "Happily ever after" endings...

Madhouse seriously nailed the dark, gloomy atmosphere, and the way the cinematography was choreographed with Light writing down the names was just too good. I'm not too sure about the seiyuu for Ryuk; I guess I expected for him to sound more meancing. Though the seiyuu for Light is I believe the same one who did Tamaki in Ouran High School Host Club which felt a little weird at first, but I got used to it.

The first episode is mostly "intro" stuff with Light discovering the Death Note, using it, and him meeting up with Ryuk. Though the visuals will prove that you will not get bored. The OP and ED sequences were pretty cool as well. Hmmm, I think I'll stick with this.

Absolutely! Talk about awesome use of visual imagery. Everytime I listened to the opening and ending themes I can't stop watching the visuals. I 've seen many openings and endings, but with such a dark and gloomy atmosphere added to this series, it gets more exciting each time I watch them.

Also, I like the shifting from Light as himself to a red-eyed looking devil. It fits well with how his character becomes throughout the series: deceiving, cold, and a highly intelligent liar. Of course, I could talk about the ending but I don't want to spoil it for those who have not seen the series. I can say that it is thrilling, shocking, and exciting at the same time. :D

Yep. Of course, it could not have been a happy ending, but the way it was setup to produce a happy ending sure shocked me. I admit that as I watched each episode wondering to myself, "When is he going to get caught?" or "How long will it take until they realize he's Kira?", I suspected he might pull something off to get away with it and kill "Near" like he did with "L", but because of some hints to Near's strategy for capturing and revealing Kira, it ended up turning the opposite direction, a happy one.

I recall one thing Ryuuk said earlier about seeing people's timeline. In other words, the length of time they have to live. It made it more of a twist as to how Light died which happens to be by the hands of Ryuuk using the very weapon against all whom opposed "Kira", the Death Note. Very interesting happy ending indeed! :)

What do you mean? I missed that one. With him gone, and the Death Note with Ryuk, how can they NOT live happily ever after!?

If ya already know this then I'm just repeating myself. In Japan, they made a live movie version of Death Note. It's a two part movie and I happen to have the first one. The sequel hasn't came out in Japan's theater at that time, but hopefully it'll get to DVD soon (unless it already has!). Ya might like it because it has many scenes from the series, but some extra scenes so they flow together.

Youtube contains trailers and video scenes of this movie. They might be on other video sites too.

Just out of "I might watch this if it's not too long for my tastes'-osity, how long is this series?

Well, it's about 36 or 37 episodes which isn't too long as a 50 episode series or over 100 freakin' episodic series, but it depends on what your preferences or tastes are.
