Though I have to say......
....that Shinigami Eyes concept Ryuk introduced was rather intriguing. I wonder when there'll be a time Light will use that.

I pretty much liked how L deduce the fact that Light is a student. But I really liked how Light is going to "use" the police to find L for him by using the indirect mistrust the police has on L.

The art quality seemed to decrease though. Hmmm, I wonder if Light ever thought of killing off terrorists? :o

From someone who read the manga start to finish as it came out, i guarentee people who enjoy the series from it's beginning will love the conclusion.

I was amazed when i saw how well the anime has been produced; angelx03 hit it on the head with the use of dark and foreboding colouring and imagery to create the setting of a dank and pitiless world in need of purging. What i enjoyed particularly was the various cinematography that made the anime more paced and seem more action-packed. Since the series is highly dialogue based it's good to see they could make it very visually appealing as well.

i can't wait for this series to continue, and i'm getting every damn raw along the way! :D

The first half of the story was awesome, I didn't like the second half. Most-likely Death Note will be split into two seasons, due to the significant changes in the second half of the story. So personally, I liked the beginning (or all that would be season 1), but thought the conclusion was crap (everything in what would be season 2 that leads to the conclusion).

Doubtlessly the first half was better, but i must say the second was still very exciting. I think the first saga caters to people who like intellectual battles, and the second combines that with a little bit of action to keep things moving.

I have encountered quite a few people that disliked the conclusion, and i won't discuss it here for obvious reasons, but frankly i think it's the best end they could have given it.

I actually might like the second half just as much as the first, especially with the
introduction of Mellow and N (don't search these characters up otherwise you'll inevitably encounter the biggest spoiler in the whole anime/manga)
, also curious to see who will voice these characters since ANN haven't listed them yet.

these anime series discussion threads really need an edit button available and I don't see the harm in having one... apologies for that, I know the syntax for spoiler tags now, although those two names alone shouldn't be sufficient for anyone to deduce anything about the plot >_>

By the way, when does Misa get introduced? Knowing that Aya Hirano is voicing her has my ears tingling. 8-)

3 to 4? Nah, try probably about 8 to 10.

Actually, nah, you could be right, 3 to 4 (that would make episode 6 or 7) would make sense if all of season 1 ends where I think it will end....

37 episodes is a suitable length for 12 total volumes, and from what Psygnius quoted, that point in the story seems to be when the second Death Note movie starts, and aires in Japan next month
