well at least they put Near, Mellow and Mikami into the 2nd intro even though they needed more screen time in it considering the importance of their roles in the next arc.

They can't give too much away in the theme-Near and Mello look vaguely like L or Light (well, under funny lighting, and if you blur the images, and...)

As for the song.......all that did was give me chills  .....anime horror.....I like how they do the horor thinh, but there should definately be a different song

I also can't picture the lyrics/translation on the bottom of the screen for that kind of song :D
whats kainda funny is that Ed's 5'6", and he's taller than me. ............and he's called short..............*sigh*

The new opening is pretty, but uh.... WTF is with the opening song. I hope the funds in getting rights for a opening song went to animation quality, that was just flat out terrible.

Id have to agree. It least they had flashy effects in the opening, but that doesn't help much.

i hate the new opening. it's a sorry excuse for an opening song. I know a few songs by the same band who did the first ones that would of done much better.

Am I the only one who loved the new opening song?

yes you are
now go cry in the corner

I also hated the new closing theme...
good thing it's always at the very beginning and end...that way I can skip right over it
Nightmare did such a good job with the first op/ed.
I will miss hearing it...might have to keep replaying that one scene in the episode with the "special" ringtone.

over and over again.

now to add one thing to the discussion:
ep 20...that L is tricksy I tells ya, not to mention being very manipulative.
I look forward to how this "corporate arc" if you will come to a close

as far as the song goes, it sounds gross and creepy the first time, but there's actually a pretty cool underlying melody beneath(in) the screaming.

I think it really suits deathnote-its a rare genre of song (for an anime series) for a rare storyline.

Anyone else think the whole Yotsuba side of the story was done a little too quickly? I've read the manga, so I know what's going on, but I feel like if I hadn't then I'd have trouble following what the Yotsuba group was doing and why they were doing it.
I don't think they even really explain that none of the seven other members of the group know who the real Kira is... that's very plain in the manga, but apparently in the anime they just expect you to figure that out...
Oh and I agree that the new opening and closing songs are vastly inferior to the old ones. Why do these anime series insist on changing the opening/closing sequences after about 15 episodes? The other one I remember clearly was GTO... I loved the first intro (which used L'Arc-en-Ciel's "Driver's High"), and hated the other two.

at least they dont SKIP openings when they air the eps.....

I was expecting Reday Steady Go when I bought the first Fullmetal DVD......Melissa totally blind-sided me.......

The Yotsuba arc was okay, I guess........volume seven was the best, though.........but, is it just me, or on the cover-
-did Ryuzaki have a spot of blood on the sleeve of his shirt? (around his elbow area)
If he did, I think it's very fitting. :D

EP 20 FTW!

Hot damn Misa's quite the little risk-taker isn't she? [almost getting humped in the new Kira's car... ack*]

But now, I wonder what happened in that eye of L's when he noticed...

Damn he's quick, I wonder what he picked up on [that Light didn't] about Misa's new knowledge...

You know...I finally saw an episode and I gotta say...not a big fan of the apple munching death god's voice...I expected something a bit higher...and more insane...but that's just me...
