Do you really want to know the answer to that? The amount of intelligence they give the characters in this anime is kinda ridiculous and inhuman until you realise that the story writer had to come up with these plans him/herself in order to create the story =P

Without spoiling anything, I have to say that I've read the manga, and I liked the earlier parts the best by far. Like end of Volume 4 for the manga, middle of episode 11 for the anime. It's all downhill after that for me. Not that it isn't still enjoyable...

I must say, I've been surprised at how well-done the adaptation is. It's one of the better animes I've seen in a while. There was so much text and internal monologue in the manga, I didn't know if it could be pulled off well in an anime... but it's been done masterfully.

Btw, one nitpicky story-telling issue I have...
You know in episode 11 when everybody's finding out that there's a second Kira? Why in the bloody hell do they show Light figuring it out first? That's just silly. It's far more dramatic if they show L putting it forth as a theory first and force the viewer to try to figure it out with him. It would create more respect for L and keep the tension up a lot more. Why, oh why would you pass up an opportunity like that and have Light tell the audience before showing L figuring it out? Who's with me and thinks they blew an opportunity?
that would be interesting, having L figure that out.....Light seems to always be ahead of him, so L should get ahead of Light every now and then.....or at least catch up
whats kainda funny is that Ed's 5'6", and he's taller than me. ............and he's called short..............*sigh*

EP 16 made L look like a bastard and Light and Misa look like the good guys. I can't help wanting L to let them go :\

the reader spends more time with Light, so that isn't too suprising

ep17:  really good.
I can't say that I saw it coming
Mr. Yagami pulled a gun on light! whaa?!?
that scene was intense
L still suspects light and misa, and what's up with that business where one person gets killed every week...and Rem is behind it? *confused*
and now Misa gets a whole floor of a new "hotel"?
it doesn't look like the action/suspense is going away any time soon.
and Misa called Mr. Yagami a stalker, L a pervert and thought he was gay
good times

The action/suspense will ALWAYS be there, and

(answers to spoiler without any REAL spoilers)
Mr.Yagami was under orders
and
L WOULD have to suspect Light and Misa, or he wouldn't have them held at gunpont :D
as for that Rem thing........it partially relates to Misa, but Rem is acting alone,
and L, the pervert that he is, would HAVE to make up for all that he put poor Misa through :D
Why, God, why? The themes were perfectly good already.

I don't know why anime series in particular seem to change their opening and ending songs so often. The same thing happened with GTO... their first opening song was L'Arc-en-Ciel's "Driver's High," which I loved, and the animation to go along with it was brilliant. But then they changed the opening... twice. In my mind, each new song was worse than the last. What's the deal here?

This series is starting to become sillier though.

The sudden fist brawl between Boxer Light and Capoera L was very interesting but the way they stopped when the phone rang had me rotflol...

The cute way Misa was yelping when she got shoved into her 'room' was funny too...

The voyeuristic methods of L never ceases to amaze me. I KNOW he's got a 'collection' of old surveillance tapes somewhere lol...

But I think we're losing steam here in OH SHIZZORS mood and gaining a comedic role. I'm kinda not liking it...

GIVE ME EPIC CELLPHONE TALKING AND CHIP EATING DAMNIT!

Yeah, I always liked the earlier parts of the manga before... well, recent events. The whole notion of how Light "escaped" always seemed like a cop-out to me. It never really gets back to the level it was at... but I think it shoul start to get better again in the early 20s, if it keeps staying true to the manga.

ya the 2nd op is kinda crappy, too much thrash banging in the song... at least the scenes are good. take a look for it yourself: LINK

This song would've been so much better for a 2nd OP in my opinion: LINK
the title fits the series perfectly ^^

I find it funny that the text credits in the OP is arranged like the ones in Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni. Other then that, there's something about this Yotsuba arc that's really rubbing me the wrong way.
