MY FAVORITE SERIES EVER!!!

Anyway, I like how it was handled compared to the manga. the storyline follows a similar pattern, and even though I love the manga more than anything else, I can still watch and enjoy the anime. The only major complaint is that Wolfwood is a LOT hardier in the manga, and it really depressed me when... Yeah. The art's not perfect (especially compared to Yasuhiro Nightow's drawing style), but it still works for the anime and once you get into it, you completely stop noticing.

But all in all, awesome series.

I love the funny bits in it. I cried when Wolfwood died. But, it was sooo sad. I can't remember much else except for that and the ending. It's been too long.

The humor is a bit more extreme than that of Vash's manga self, but I actually like it. I guess it makes him a little easier to relate to and love :)

I can't wait either! It looks like it'll be based off of the manga... I wonder if the art will be more like manga too. That would rock. :D

I don't think that's been announced for sure, but it seems like there's a chance of it...

This is the best article I could find on the subject; I was planning on posting it in anyway, as is pertains to this thread.

"Trigun X is an anime movie based on the series Trigun and is expected to come out in Japan in 2007. There is much speculation that it will be based off of the manga Trigun Maximum. The movie is October issue of Neo magazine (A UK Anime magazine) includes an interview with Studio Madhouse's founder, Masao Maruyama. In it he says the studio is working on a Trigun Movie that should be released in a "couple of years". The November issue of Anime Insider also confirms this news. They're have also been numerous reports about a Trigun Movie in the works, but earlier this week, News about a Trigun Movie was confirmed, it is to be called Trigun X and will debut in 2007"-wikipedia.com entry on Trigun X, May 2, 2006.

I'll look around and try to figure out some more about that though.

I think the anime is more depressing in some ways than the manga, as the people are so unpleasant that I wish Knives would get up off his butt and get on with some planetary genocide.

i like the manga mostly because of its more developed enviornment, and little stuff like explaining that the cross is the symbol of wolfwood's organization.maximun is also alittle more extreme than the anime in most aspects, like vash is more pathetic, knives is more of a threat, and wolfwood is more intense/insane.
speaking of maximum, has anyone heard when they're actually gonna finish translating it?

Maxium might be done in 9 to 20-ish months (knowing that they release every volume 3 months apart, thank you Dark Horse!). They are 12 books in all...thats just google-ing around google.com. I can't wait till the end b/c the art is more insane then the anime, and everyone in the manga has more devolpment.

I'll agree that the anime was more depressing then the manga, but the thing it lacked was char development and action (see up). if the manga became the anime version word for word....think of how great the series would be....

Trigun is an interesting anime especially since it's a mix of personality types. You've got Vash who is very funnny but has his moments of being serious and kicks ass, also his sad moments.
Knives who is a complete asshole but still totally rocks as a kick ass guy, he also gets really scared at points when Vash hurts him.
Wolfwood who is most of the time serious and doesn't want to mess around, but he also has his funny moments...Especially when he thinks Vash turns into Kuraneko. (sp?)
Milly, who is just a cheerfull girl that really has a thing goin for Wolfwood.
And Meryl who is strict, and a stuckup, but really shows her affection for Vash.
Most animes in my opinion don't really have a lot of people who have a mixed personality.
Once Comrades..Now Enemies
Jack Krauser & Leon Kennedy
Friendship..Doesn't Always Last Forever.

I actually thought the characters were quite on the transparent side. Vash and Meryl are downright stereotypical.
And God spoke unto the Chicken, and He said: "Thou shalt crosseth the road", and the Chicken did cross the road, and there was much rejoicing.

The characters do seem to come off as a little "flat" in the anime but if you really look into them, they're not as 2 dimensional as they seem (no pun intended). There wasn't as much character background as there should have been, and a lot of things that would've made the characters more believable were left out (i.e. the whole Tessla thing and Vash trying to commit suicide when he was a kid). Don't get me wrong; it's actually one of my favorite animes in that it's so fun to watch, but it certainly is lacking some crucial plot points and artistic style.

Can't wait for Trigun X. I really hope the rumors about it being based off of the manga are true. :D

What??? Vash tried to commit suicide??? Definitely didn't expect that one. My image of Vash is strong, funny and a little stupid in some things (probably why he's a little funny). Yep, no, no, definitely didn't pick him as the suicidal type.

Trigun X? So, is this going to be continuing from the previous story or is it going to be from the beginning to the end but based on the manga version? Ok, I'm confused...
