So the DVD is for sale. Went on sale two days ago, I think.

How long until someone subs it?

I'm still hung up on whether or not to watch it unsubbed, and I'm sure the decision will be even harder when I actually get my hands on it. I can't find it anywhere right now.

I laughed when they did this for Death Note and Bleach, but for Eureka Seven? I am so going.

So my friend and I crossed the border to see the movie dubbed for that one-night only showing. xD
SO worth it. Oh my gosh~ x3 Hearing the original dub VA's come back for the movie brought back so many memories for me. I thought the dub of the movie was just fantastic (I can't believe Kari Whalgren pulled off GRANEMONE using PURE RAW VOICE ACTING TALENT! No technological voice alterations, nothin'. That's really awesome.)
The beginning part with Dominic and Kids Renton & Eureka dub-wise probably could've been better, but... eh, it was alright. That was my only gripe with the dub. Renton as a little kid sounded... not that great. Eureka as a kid was fine, though.

The bloopers were hysterical. XD
Renton: "Eureka... let's go back to Warsawa. We can build a new life there, and look over the hill of the Snow Moon Flower just as Professor Dominic asked us to. Just the two of us."
Eureka: "... Idiot."
Renton: "B**CH!"

XDD

Spoiler :
The film is beautiful but what I did not like was the end (because demons Eureka forget everything :? ) but it looks pretty with her hair long strate, but what I like about it was that died Hat!

News on DVD & Blu-Ray releases for Eureka seveN!
So the movie will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray apparently on January 26th 2010 (8D)

There's no news of the TV series gong on Blu-Ray (and I could honestly care less because I have all of it on DVD), but there's still hope for fans if you're looking for it. =P

I'm marthoning this show, not because I want to plow though it, but because I can't stop watching.

So, Question .... Eureka and Renton for most co-dependent couple in all of anime? Discuss!

As musch as I want them to be, I think they are very close to the top. I must say, if they did not meet, their lives would have been complete crap. It's kind of funny how each episode seems to reveal how both come to a realization about themselves and that they each grow a little more mature. This is my favorite coulple, but I wouldn't say the most co-dependant.

I watched this series from beginning to end twice already! Why? One word: STORYLINE. My rating: 9/10.

Any oppose?

This show has one of the most memorable casts of characters I have ever seen. You can really tell how much the production crew loved the characters they've created, in how much time was spent developing the members of the Gekkostate, and spending time with them. Most magnificent is the Renton-Eureka pairing, which to me, is one of the purest romances anime has to offer. I think that this is one of BONES' top series, the only being topped for me by personal favorite Fullmetal Alchemist.

Unfortunately, like many BONES series, the plot and writing takes a backseat to the characters, often branching off in tangents where no support lay before. The characters Anemone and Dominic were largely underdeveloped and sometimes wouldn't make an appearance for 5 episodes at a time. We never really learned where TheEnd came from or why Anemone was the way she was. When Dominic announced his love for Anemone, there had been nothing prior to indicate they even liked each other, and the episode Anemone showed anything but contempt for him was the same episode they had their great emotional reunion. Similarly, when it was revealed that the unnamed planet where the story takes place was in fact a shell encompassing the Earth, there had never been anything to suggest that the planet wasn't the Earth, simply far in the future. A little history earlier on would have done much greater to make this a more profound moment. Many of Dewey's role as the villian didn't really come into play until the second half of the series. Despite being ever-present and a magnificent figurehead to be hated, he did nothing significant until around episode 30. Looking at the plot more as a whole, besides the romance, it is a pretty typical mecha anime. I've noticed a lot of parallels with Evangelion in particular, including the pilots and the semi-sentient partially bionic machines. The scene where Renton goes apeshit on an enemy KLFwhile defending Holland is a clear homage to the Eva scene involving the Unit 03. The Limit of Questions/Life is just a little way away from being the Instrumentality Project, and the Coralians are an alien presence showing many resemblences to the Angels. Speaking of such things, Eureka Seven is really obnoxious about it's terminology usage. Having watched the entire show twice, I am still confused about many things that were mentioned in passive dialogue and never properly addressed. Things like the Summer of Love, The Great Wall, The Scub Corals, and The Zone were only brought up when they started to play an important role. Some better writing could have prevented a lot of confusion in this.
Most important of all, I am still confused as to why Renton and Eureka had to take their journey in the last quarter in the series. As soon as Holland recognised Renton as "Eureka's choice," everyone was suddenly at an understanding that they had to go and save the world.

All things considered, I give a 7/10. Great cast, could have done better in the story. Good overall.

@Ishbalan : I would have to agree and disagree with you about Dominick's and Anemone's relationship. I agree that they do not get enough face-time in the series as a whole. I disagree that there is no indication as to how they feel for each other until their reunion. Unlike Renton and Eureka, their relationship is far more subtle. However, Dominic's feeling are far more apparent then Anemone's (Like risking his life going to ground zero of the 7th swell to save Anemone, and when he meets Renton there he says "It looks like we have both fallen for difficult girls" or something close to that). Now we really don't see Anemone's feelings until much later (though they are subtle indications throughout). Anemone's feeling become apparent when Dominick brings her the anemone flower, then he kisses her and she bites his lip, but only after a few moments. Then Anemone says something, I can't remember the line however the undertow of the line has to do with her self-doubt that she could ever be loved. Now from this episode on, watch closely .... every scene with Anemone up until her reunion with Dominic (minus the ballroom scene) she has the flower that she resented Dominic bringing her ... it becomes more and more wilted until the scene where she is getting ready to leave on the final mission, then you see the flower in a glass of water and looking more "alive". It is her own self-loathing that gets in the way of her showing her true feelings for Dominic and she can't even admit them to herself until he is gone. So, I feel you missed the subtleties of their relationship.

As for TheEnd ... ya they never really explain where it came from. As for Anemone, they do explain her and why she is the way she is. When Dominic goes to Warsaw to find Anemone's replacement we discover the truth. She was a war orphan from Warsaw who was brought to the labs there. It was at these labs that they used DNA they had obtained from Eureka to genetically modify Anemone in an attempt to create an artificial Correllian to control TheEnd. They only partially succeeded, look closely at her eyes and you see a red line across her iris, while a red circle is around Eurekas eyes. The mad scientist there says that Anemone was unique in that she had a high resistance to the drugs they where giving her ... in other words, she was the only one to live through the process. This becomes more apparent when Dominic is shown the replacements who look almost like Eureka, however they to die in the final stage of the experiment. Dominic also says at one point that the drugs are eating away at Anemone's mind.

I agree that the termnology of the series is annoying. This is my biggest complaint on the series. Also, I'm not a fan of the surfing mechs.

However, I love the storytelling and character devlopment!

So a 9/10 from me!

Now that you mention it, I do remember that line Dominic said to Renton early on, but I must have forgotten it by the last quarter of the series, when he became serious about it. I'll also recognise the thing with the flower, but I suppose I was more hung up on the symbolism the flower had of "loss of all hope." I thought that she kept the withering flower to represent her fading sanity and increasing despair due to the damage of the drugs. As for her origin, that was a connection I'm ashamed I didn't make, but the subtlety of the explanations in the show certainly didn't help. Going further, I suppose that we could make similar assumptions about TheEnd paralleling Anemone, but thats not something a normal firsttime watcher a figure out.
This just strengthens my argument that the characters are the forefront to every other aspect of the show.
