I'll be blunt. Mostly in the beginning episodes it's Renton trying to fit in with the people of the Gekkostate. This week's episode was about him couping with Eureka's kids.

In all honesty people who has seen this on fansubs does agree it gets a bit slow. But realize that this is a 50 episode series created by the infamous BONES studio so obviously they're going to take time building up the characters and unravel the mysteries little by little.

Just try to stick with it!

I'm on episode 7 and it's finally starting to pick up some steam... I'm sticking around at the moment solely for the art, it's gorgeous, though the anime finally looks like it's going somewhere as well.

I love the animation. Very smooth and nice. I've only seen one episode though, and I'm not even sure if it was the first one, but it didn't look as bad as I thought it would be. I'm not usually into mecha.

Im only on episode 17 and i like the show. But at first it was kinda boring but it got better. I have the first and second books too, but they're a little different from the anime. My fav. character is Anomone.

Ok so I've just finished Episode 20. I really am enjoying this series now, it's quite good.

Now, I know I went on a whole rant about this way back when RahXephon came out. But without going into details/spoilers or anything, does it seem like Bones gets a lot of ideas from Evangelion? I'm not saying that Eureka 7 and Eva are copies of each other (like I did with Rah and Eva), but some things are just so similar....

Spoiler wrote:Like, for example, in Episode 20 where Renton goes berserk in the Nirvash (heh heh, Nirv.. Nerv..), I was immediately reminded of Shinji's rampage in, oh, I dunno, Ep 18? of Eva. Other parts throughout just seem to scream similarities as well.

I'm finding fewer similarities between the two than with RahXephon and Eva, and I think Eureka seveN is actually pulled off better than Eva, but I was just wondering if anyone else had noticed these things.

Also, again, I'm only up to 20, so please don't spoil anything for me

You know, I'm on Episode 32 now, and the more and more I keep watching, the less and less it feels like Eva, and the more and more it feels like Nadia.

*shrug*

Avast! Spoilers? wrote:There's quite a few places, but let's just say for one, Talho's change of outfit seems to match Electra's in timing and reasons, if not in style. Also, the whole over-protective captain with the teenage girl on board.

Ah well. Great show though regardless, it keeps getting better each episode I watch.

I feel guilty doing this, but yay Triple Post!

Anyone know anywhere to order the latter part of this series, say the last few DVDs (11, 12, 13) from Japan and DOESN'T cost $60 a DVD?

I've look on Amazon and CDJapan, etc, and it seems like every DVD is around $60, which I just plain can't afford. Any ideas as to why it's so expensive, and anywhere that I could maybe find these DVDs a bit cheaper (legally of course)?

OK, I saw the first episode tonight... and I must say, Eureka is really hot. I guess she's this series' Rei, right? And Renton's the Shinji of this series...
