YAY!!! The most I've seen of this is the american dub:Cardcapters, but I still know alot more about it than the dub said(I still get some names confused though) I havn't read anything of the manga and my favorite characters are Yue/Yukito and Meilin Li.(I always fall for the bishonen/beseinen)I also learned alot by watching it in Mexico. Even thou I got in trouble (somtimes) about staying up late.(It came on at 1:00 am) No fav episode.

O___________O Sweetie, what ever copy you have of that horrid dub, please burn it. Go read the two 'seasons' of manga, then check out any kind of sub.

The dub completely tears apart a very cute show and makes it "presentable" for the younger masses...

I admit that the original version is way better. However, if I never watched that dub I wouldn't have known about the show at all. I did like it. I don't think I could sit through it anymore but that was my show. It was not hard to notice that they really did a hack job on it (especially with those Li/Yukito (Li/Jullian(sp?) reactions. I was not blind. I saw what was up.)

In short: The dub was fun while it lasted but it can't touch the original.

My favorite character: Tomoyo. (Madison to english dub fans.) Ah yes. It all started when I recognized Madison as Holly from Monster Rancher. (I liked the voice.) Then I saw the orginal and liked the little obsessed one even more. She was so smart for her age. Honestly, without Tomoyo I don't think Sakura could have made it. That girl bailed her out on so many occasions but Sakura was probably just a tad bit clueless.

My favorite song: Platinum (3rd opening). The visuals to that opening weren't as pleasing as the first opening but the song was beautiful. (Well the part where they show the characters were really cool especially Yukito's scene.)

Even though it was really long...(I can't tell you how long it took to get all 20 dvds)...it was worth it. Once I go through it once I can't really sit through it again anytime soon but it's one of those shows you know you'll go back to. So far I've seen the whole thing twice. You find little new things the second time around. All in all it's a good show.

hahaha... yea dub is a bit scary, but I was introduced to this the same way as lilgumba. I have since obtained every copy of the subtitled version Pioneer has released. (wich is the entire series now) At least they released it as 2 seperate DVDs to keep the japanese version in tact. The english one skipped a few episodes in the begining, so the episode numbering is different.

CCS is a great series, but it gets better AFTER all the monitonous filler episodes where its just the same old capture card after card for a while there. I think the episode count coudve been brought down a bit there, but after Sakura starts to make her own magic, it gets better from there out.
incidentaly I am complaining about too much episodes, yet I was sad when it ended  I found myself wanting more haha

....and that's why we now have Tsubasa. All joking aside, they could have told us a little bit what happend to the characters after the second movie. We assume we know what really happend but it would have been nice if they solidified it kind of like in the manga from what I read. Then again, the manga was a little different.

Catch You Catch Me is a great song too. It's my second favorite OP. It's one of those songs that is really good for just driving down the street or on a bus and get that happy feeling.

The library has a hoard load of CCS DVDs! (and they are all in Japanese, not english.. o_o) Maybe i should check some out. I haven't seen all of the series yet, lol.

Btw, anyone ever played any games on Wonderswan Color? It's a handheld game system that was never brought to the US, only Japan. It was shoved aside when the GBC/GBA systems game out.

Anyway, i noticed they have a few games for it of CCS. I'm playing CCS: Sakura no Fushigi na Clow Card (AKA Sakura and the Mystery of the Clow Cards) for it right now. It's in black and white, but it's cute and the battle system may reminds me of Pocket Monsters (AKA Poke'mon) but it's still fun! X3 (i still prefer playing Star Hearts on that system though.. > >) I'll post some screencaps if i can get the chance to upload the images!^^

Hmmm, actually I remember playing around this CCS game for the Gameboy awhile back on a emulator. It's was pretty much a straight up adaptation of the first couple episodes on the 1st season, and it was done in a dating-sim style. Since I didn't know any Japanese, I was pretty much lost.

Though I was lucky enough to find a few mini-games so those were pretty fun.

Two Cardcaptor Sakura games I like:

> D.K. Soft's Card Hunter Sakura 2 for Windows, which I have an import CD-ROM copy bought from Himeya Soft.

The game plays like a cross between Cardcaptor Sakura and Street Fighter II. You choose either Sakura or Li and battle a succession of Clow Card spirits, leading up to the battles with Yue and Eriol. There is also a one-on-one multiplayer mode where you bring in cards already collected in the main game and go head-to-head with either the computer or another human opponent.

Both of them start off with the Fly and Windy cards in their library, and as they defeat Clow Card spirits, more cards are added to your collection. Each of them also have different quirks to their powers, which makes them really different characters in the game -- Sakura is the average fighter while Li is the experienced fighter. There are also a few nuances that are nice - Tomoyo and Kero following Sakura around on-screen as she battles the enemies, for example.

If there is any problem with this one, it's the difficulty. The Watery Card is a very hard opponent for being the second boss you face. After that, the battles are a bit easier, but it will take some time and practice.

> GF Captor Kurara

A wierd mix of Castlevania, Startropics, and Cardcaptor Sakura, this game is a fresh change of pace from the tried-and-true CCS game. The story (of which there is a lot of Japanese dialogue) revolves around Sakura's school becoming the house of the living dead, with Sakura having to face off with her now-undead former schoolmates.

While you have to know Japanese to truly get the best out of this game, the gameplay itself is fun enough. I especially like the fact that Sakura, being surrounded by ghosts, does cower and shiver with fear when she bends down ... just like she should. :)

There is also an "omake" mode with some small (but fun) CCS-themed mini-games to play.

I only wish the story was in English ...
