those movies have scared the shit out of me...
"Strength lies in action. Let the weak react to me..." - Kamahl, Pit Fighter from Magic: the Gathering
"That is a mistake many of my enemies make. They think before they act. I act before I think!" - Vortigern from Merlin ('98)

Plenty of trauma for everyone involved.

The really, really scary part is that about half of them are laugh out loud funny. The other half are emotionally scarring.

It's like playing a lottery with your soul.

Holy crap, I didn't think that KyoAni could keep the series on a full boil, but Episode 11 DOES NOT DISAPPOINT!

SpoilerBlocker™ wrote:They fully animated the space battles! I loved how everyone (except Kyon) had different crews that reflected the personalities of each individual. Haruhi = Aliens. Mikuru = the cat figures on the official KyoAni SHnY website. Itsuki = faceless minions (well, generic). Yuki = Yuki clones! And Kyon = you never see his crew (well, not their faces anyways, mwhaahaha!).

And I feel so sorry for the computer club president, but he kinda had it coming. Strangely, he kinda acts a bit like Haruhi (is this how all club presidents are?). And I love how he was portrayed in the space battle scenes. Leiji Matsumoto FTW!

And there are soooo many other Sci-Fi anime references, Gun*** , Yamato, Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Crest/Banner of the Stars, Macross, Aim for the Top! Gunbuster, probably some Nadesico and many other space setting animes.

The animation in this episode was amazing. And the music keeps surprising me with how well its incorporated. The soundtrack CD is definately on my "must buy" list.

I cannot wait to see all the animated avatars that this episode will spawn. :D

Gun*** reference FTW!!!!

I'm waiting for the subs of this, but I seen awesome screencaps of this episodes. Old school sci-fi anime fans are going to PISS THEIR PANTS when they watch this! :o

Man, if KyoAni ever animated Crest/Banner of the Stars, it'll probably look like this; it was actually pretty awesome. What makes this episode even more awesome is that it was scripted by Shoji Gatoh, the creator of the Full Metal Panic series (which was obviously storyboarded by Yasuhiro Takemoto who directed Fumoffu and the Second Raid)!

Lots of amusing moments here....
...Mikuru's fleet is SO useless because she got lost!

HARUHI KICK!!!!

Yuki became one heck of a l33t haxxors! SO CUTE!!!!

And how many references can you pick out of this one?

Next episode is episode 12.....I mean.....wait.....IT IS EPISODE 12 NEXT WEEK!!!

"There's a huge difference in specs between four computers and Nagato"
ROFL

I wish I had a personal Nagato for my computer, I'd be churning out AMVs by the minute haha  Especially

How she performed during the space battle, hacked the code to stop them from cheating, micromanging her fleet to reveal theirs, and attacking all at once faster than the others could just attack, and without using any special powers either

On a side note, looks like Nagato might have found a hobby she likes

It was pretty cool how they fully animated the whole battle though, that was awesome. Leave it to Kyoto animation to do that , Enjoyed all the Famous space set anime refrences in this episode also :D

Although...
If anyone was observant during the Eps 14 - end(Chronologically/ eps 9 real order) episode, you'd instantly know alreay the outcome of the battle, since the 4 laptops were sitting on the table over there in the corner ;p I was wondering how they got those laptops when I saw that episode.

Ha!

I think it's time for an upgrade in computers... my current computer is named Chi, named after one cute computer, ie. from Chobits. The next one which will be more powerful will have to be named Yuki!
