It's also not yaoi. It's shounen-ai, or BL. Thank you, please try again.

Also, uh... Level C? Ai no Kusabi? Gravitation is just the most common BL gateway drug. It's by no means the only one.

Yep, very correct. Alot of people consider any Shouenen-ai series nowadays to be Yaoi.

Differences-

Shounen-Ai - Boy Love or BL, usually just a simple romantic b-b relationship.

Yaoi - Explicit romantic b-b relationships usually using almost no story plot and it's usually just full of two or more boys making out.

To tell the truth, i really can't think of any Yaoi anime either. I can name two Shounen-Ai off the top of my head: Gravitation and Loveless.
I can name some Yaoi manga though: Yellow, Only the Ring Finger Knows, and Single Cell Organism, among many more. (i've only read Yellow though, but i noticed from looking online that the covers were marked Yaoi and rated 18+ so yeah.. > >)

In the case of Shounen-ai, i prefer Gravitation over Loveless. It just seems alot better to me..

Here's a weird story. I was reading the Gravitation novel the other day, and my mom saw the cover and it had Eiri and Shuuichi on it, and she said "Are you reading a story about fags again!?" and i said "No mom, it's a story about a famous novelist's life and an upcoming music artist's life. The cover just shows the two of them, but it's nothing gay-like." She walked away, and about an hour later, sis had called her friend over to watch Gravitation on the TV with her. Mom came out and started watching it, and realized that it was the same characters from the novel (they were kissing by this point), and said "Ahh! Fags! You lied! You're a fag! >XD"
o_O ( my mom is weird, lol )

Thanks for the explanation.(i thought they were the same)I've read alot of shonen-ai/yaoi comics like Dost Thou Know, Only the Ring Finger Knows, Fake, Gravitation(duh), and at this very moment I'm reading Yellow(when I say right now, I mean RIGHT NOW!!!(ironic, ne?) )

Your mom kinda.......sends me off as funny and twisted at the same time...................

Isn't it amazing how someones opinion can change when they actually SEE OR READ THE ANIME/MANGA!!!

Gah. Sorry but that really peeves me off. I never judge somehting till I have actually seen it. But moving on. I love this anime. I havent read the manga but I am going to coz I really think they missed out alot in the anime it's self (which is where i first found/heard of it)
I think it is hilarious. I love Riyoichi(spl) and Shuichi. Both are OH so cute.

One thing that annoys me though is the ending...it didn't make sense and yet it sorta did GAH! I jsut hated the way it ended. It left me thinking "WTF" So badly!!!!!
I reacon Yoai is awesome. Maybe another reason I love this so much. I really dont see the problem with 2 guys being together.

I showed my friends the anime and they were both very sceptical but then they both fell in love with it :D haha. One thinks it is so cute the story.

Forgotten everything and I'm happy,

You like yaoi? That means you like explicit guy/guy scenes.

Do you mean shounen ai? That's just two guys in love with each other.

(sorry, i can't stand it when it's refered to as yaoi when that's totally different.. > >)

Gravitation is hillarious. The only problem is that I've seen all of the episodes except for the last two.

I can't remember either, it has been a while since I last saw it... All I remember of that bit was something like, he needed a change. But, don't take my word on it.

Yeah, my friend got me watching Gravitation and as I was just about to finish the whole thing, the last episode, half way through, it stuffed up. I was like, NNNOOOOO!!! There's only like 15mins to go. I hate that. When I watch an ANIME, even if the ANIME might not be all that good, I have to finish it or somehow it bugs me to death. And for that to happen, it really, really, really, really, bugged me.

However, I have read the MANGA and I must say, the like the MANGA version of Gravitation a lot better. The characters' personality are more in depth and that gives it more of a storyline. That reminds me, the OVA's were different to the Series, too. :?
