The story was weak, the animation was cool, and then ending fights were too short.

x2. That about sums up my feelings of the film. I'd like to see more Naruto movies come out in the future. But storytelling and fight sequences have to be improved for it to be a acceptable complement to the show.

Yes, the animation was pretty - but it was lacking in the Sasuke department (except for that cute 'autograph' bit at the end).

I was amused, even though the plot wasn't great.

I thouht it was pretty good. I'm glad there wasn't as much Sasuke stuff, since it's you know... Naruto.

The fights seemed to be really short, at least they were well done.
Did any one else notice the awful rotoscoping they used on that scene where Sakura runs into the bar?

I think I can confirm all of the above... very pretty animation, unexciting plot, and some sadly rushed end fights.

That being said, all in all, I thought it was a pretty good film so long as you didn't expect it to be anything more than a vessel for the characters.

Naruto jail breakout was my favourite scene.

As for me, I loved the movie! ^_^ In Naruto I care more for the story than I do the action, so fight scenes being short and to the point doesn't bother me. I can say from this one movie alone though, the story was better in it than any DBZ movie I've seen. So basically I thought just the opposite of what jethropr though about it, except about the animation, that I can agree on! -_^

I didn't see much plot to the story. Aside from the train scene and the very beginning, everything they did fell in accordence to a regular Naruto episode.

I personally hoping for something new in the movie, but instead it was basicly 4 eps put together. Like with the beginning of the movie, how it started was completely awesome, but then they quickly fell into the normal.
