No idea. Actually, considering how powerful he is now, I'm kinda scared to think what he'd be like at his dad's size.

This also brings up the question of how demons age. My little sisters and I have a theory that 10 years equals one year's worth of growth. Thus a demon that's been around for 50 years would be the equivalent to a human 5-year-old. This means that Inuyasha could easily be 150-160 years old, not including the 50 years he spent stuck to that tree.

That theory breaks down once the demon reaches adulthood, however. After that, all bets are off. (Actually, until the episode where Inuyasha et al tried to find the demon that made the black pearl, I didn't know it was possible for a demon to die of old age. Seems Inuyasha didn't know it was possible, either.)

Ah yes...the aging of demons. When demons are still considered as children, it's easy to understand the different ages and years between them and the humans (kind of). But, when they're considered as adults... good luck.

A demon with the black pearl...hm...why does that sound sooo familiar?!? Um, can someone remind me who that is again, please?

 I didn't remember at first, either.

Remember the black pearl in Inuyasha's right eye that acted as a gateway to his father's grave? Well, it won't work anymore and the gang went to find Hosenki so he could make another. But Hosenki had recently died of old age leaving his son to carry on the business. But his son wasn't a master yet and so would need a hundred years to make such a pearl.

Everyone seemed pretty surprised that a demon died of old age. (Well, except for Myoga. Don't really remember him reacting much at all.) Hope that helps.

Ah...yes, yes. I remember the black pearl now. Thankyou very much. Now it all makes sense. Hm...yes, it does seem strange that a demon can die of old age. But this just makes me wonder, if he died of old age, how OLD was he? :?

Definitely. I mean, Inuyasha's dad was been mentioned at being a few thousand years old himself, and he definitely wasn't old looking. (At least not if the third movie is anything to go on.)

True, just because only a few thousand years have been mentioned for Inuyasha's dad doesn't mean he isn't a lot older than that. It could just mean that that's how long Myoga has served him.

By the way... how are you supposed to slay a demon that's already dead?

Quickly. :P

btw, InuYasha The Movie 4 is exactly what you expect of a movie done to a currently-running series: They came, they fought, they kicked demon a$$, and they left.

Not that it isn't good, though -- I liked the side-quest story a lot, and the enemies are pretty original. Along with that is the usual retconning and that some of the characters wander in and wander out -- not much to do with them but cameo in this movie. :P

Now that the TV series is over with, and the manga is heading towards what appears to be a final resolution, I'm hoping that Movie 5 shakes things up a lot.
