Usually,I would have thought of another InuYasha discussion topic but I'm still pouting on it being removed from the saturday line-up.
which kind of works for me since I have to go away this weekend. :P
I never thought that there would be the day...when this this sig would be upgraded.

 No more dog-boy. I know a lot of people whine about how it's gotten repetative and all that, but I still like it and I want to see new episodes. The characters are developing and expanding, and Inuyasha's character is deepening a little bit with each episode.

He was so cute in the last episode! He was so worried about Kagome, and that tender moment at the end. Awwwwwwwww. He looked like a little lost puppy. ^_^

I love IY, but I gotta say the show has flaws:

-repeating footage from prev. eps when it's not needed (to explain things).
-when it gets 1/2 way through, u see that show Title screen (for commercials); when the show continues, footage is repeated again.
- unnecessary side narration/comments (mainly from Shippo) during every battle, if I want that I'll watch Pokemon.
- lack of ideas used for eps (some good ones don't have to contribute to the plot, like in-depth origin stories for all the characters).
- Kikyo never runs even when she's in a hurry.
- IY's dependancy on tetsusaiga makes him forget his other skills (like when he fought Suikotsu).

Yup. It continues. ^_^ And on the other hand of things...

- The repeated footage is a nice reminder if you haven't seen the show for a while, or if you haven't seen the past episodes.
- Ok, title screen is a little annoying. I'll agree to that.
- I noticed that. But hey, Shippo's just a kid. Kids always point out the obvious! ^_^U
- ...you sure there's a lack of ideas?
- Kikyou's got all the time in the world. Why run?
- If he doesn't use tetsusaiga...

Me too! There doesn't seem to be any lack of ideas in the series. If anything things get more interesting. I wish they had continued the series along with the manga. There are some things I've seen scans of that didn't make it into the anime.

I really can't remember if I read here or somewhere else, but someone said that ep57-58 in the manga happened before Sango came along,in the anime it was after the fight with the coyote youkai.
I think what happend is the accidently skipped it and re-entered it back into the anime and said that she had to go to her village to fix her weopon. Fascinating isn't it? I wonder what else the creaters jumbled around.
I ask for I own nothing.

Actually, this whole "end of the series" could very well be a needed hiatus for the TV show crew. I wouldn't be surprised if the TV show picks up again in a year or so in Japan.

Or, in an interesting twist, if Cartoon Network pulls a "Big-O" for InuYasha due to the popularity of it and puts up money to fund more episodes. They did it when Big-O was popular, so who is to say they won't do the same for InuYasha (which is 10x more popular)?

I'm actually a little afraid of what might happen if CN does that. (Remembering how Big-O season two was about 3x more wacked out than the first season.) But I would be happy if the series starts up again. ^_^

I wonder what the side of InuYasha's head looks like since his ears are on the top of his head. I've never seen someone without ears before.

Well, they aren't showing new ones if that's what you mean.

And I don't know what the side of Inuyasha's head is like. It always seems odd to me when ears are perched on top of the head.

Uhhhh...okay....

Just draw a stick figure and forget to put ears on it. That's about it. I think there's just no ears there. Who knows? Maybe his hair is really thick there or something.

I think the main reason Rumiko put those two long siburnes right there is because she herself didn't know what it was supposed to look like.maybe.
I mean come on here think about it as many animal ears there are in anime they always have somthing covering up where the spot the ears are supposed to be.

For my part, I wonder more as to *why* she put the ears on the top of his head. Anatomically, they really should go where normal human ears do.

Yes, animal ears seem to be at the top of the head (more or less) in reality. However, that is because animal skulls don't extend as far up as human skulls do. When you look closely you see that the relative possition of the ears is the same on animals and humans (or, at the very least, very similar).

Yet it seems to be a convention on both sides of the Pacific to perch the ears on the very top of the head. (Examples: Inuyasha [duh], Miss Piggy, Kurama [from YuYu Hakusho], and that announcer cat-girl from the same series. There are others, I just can't think of them at the moment.)

The only thing that you are missing on, though, is the fact that we never see the side of InuYasha's head ... his hair is too long.

There is still room for speculation that he has dog and human ears ... we just do not see the human ears due to the hairstyle.

Once he turns human, his hair changes along with the ears on his head. We can now see human ears ... then, when he turns back, his hair covers the sides again.

So, still the question to ask is if he has human ears all the time or not?

(The easy answer: Rumiko Takahashi is playing with our heads. :P )
