Yeah, I was trying not to give too much away, just enough to answer the original question.

Basically, it's a bit complicated, but Gluttony is now grossly deformed and even more a bundle of instincts than he was in the series. Al is trying to open the gate, and Wrath comes to fight Gluttony, luring him onto a giant transmutation circle. He then tells Al to transmute them so that the gate will open up to meet them, and that this is why he came- so that Al wouldn't sacrifice himself for Ed and so that he could go meet his mother. After Al does the transmutation, Wrath is reuinted with Izumi inside the gate.

Actually.. they go into the past, not the future..

What i find odd is that the series ends on episode 51.. It's a weird number for an anime to end on.. Usually it's 6, 12, 26, 50, or 52.. Which means it pretty much jumped into the middle... Odd...

I really don't like the madeup ending much. I'd still like see how the manga ends.. Wonder how Hiromu Arakawa is gonna end it.. o_O

Well maybe the movie is supposed to be episode 52, since it pretty much handles where the series leaves off, instead of a big cliff hanger.

Actually there is a 52nd ep that is about 15 min long I downloaded it from one of the many sites that require you to pay money for downloads. That somewat closes the anime but leads into the basis of the movie. Its more of a trailer then then a episode and leaves a few unawansered questions that the movie awansers I believe.

The manga is fine, i like how it has its own story line instead of just being a drawn out version.

and about the manga, iv'e been reading it for a while now, the site i go to has it way past the manga's available now, i think its fan written, but i believe its because its translated, still though it sounds about right.

Sounds like a fantranslation..

Yep..the manga is way better than the anime... Volume 3 goes up to chapter 12 i believe, and volumes 4-5 are out now, following slightly around eps 25 to 29-30 or so.

The manga kinda follows the anime, but it's so different that it seems like a completely different story...

I've read the manga all the way to chapter 54!

spoiler wrote:By that point, a dude who looks like Hohenheim (he acts like god too much.. o_O I think he's light Hohenheim..but i'm not sure..Japanese is hard to read ya know.. > >) healed Ed and Al, then he noticed Ling and got Gluttony to attack him, meanwhile, Envy turned into a giant dog thing and held Ed and Al down. Gluttony held Ling down (i felt so sorry for him..that thing..holding him down.. o_O) while the Hohenheim lookalike made something come out of his head...it looked like putty or something but he claimed it was the Philosopher's Stone, and he cut Ling's face (nuuu) and he poured that stuff into the cut and turned Ling into the new Greed! So no Greed it alive again..but Ling..poor Ling was alive when he got turned into a Homunculus! T_T

Well, you have to remember that the Anime caught up to the manga. So they had to make up an ending... Truthfully, I think it's better to make a totally wacked out ending than just leave it off on a cliff hangar. ^.^ That way, when you read the manga, you kinda have different viewpoints on the series and that can help you try to understand it a bit easier, no?

Ach ja. And I have an inquiry about that spoiler....

About Ling.... wrote:Alrighty then! Yay for a plot hole. A homonculus is born when a soul has left the body and went to the gate right? So, uhm.... I'm assuming that all Hoho Papa did was put his Philosopher Stone into Ling's cut, right? ( Hot damn that sounded dirty. XD ) That isn't nessesarily killing.

I would imagine that Hoho Papa could transform him, but... I thought that a homonculus that took on the 7 Sins identity had to have a bit of the feeling that surrounded their attempt at coming back to life? I don't see how Hoho Papa was greedy, godly yes, but greedy no.

Am I just bashing too much into this or is there really a method to the madness?
