I figured I would post what I would consider the pscyche of our beloved Full Metal alchemist hero's.

Edward Elric - mainly for him, with a slight inferiority complex and a bit of self esteem troubles, Ed most want to feel he can do something worthwhile in this world. Instead of doing it little by little he feels that it must be accomplished in one big step. Either from past problems or one's now, or both together he feel inadequate about fufilling his roll as both a brother and a state alchemist.

Alphonse Elric - Al is the most tempered out of anyone else in the show. But often quiteness leads to a point where the person might become unhinged and possibly insane. The lack of feeling or being able to show any emotions makes it hard for someone to accept that they do infact feel. If this isn't solved then the consious might lead him to the idea that he will never be able to feel thus creating a illusion that he never had them to begin with.

Roy Mustang - Another classic example of low self-esteem due to past problems, Roy feels that he will only do good if he is higher places. Although he has made a difference, past mistakes has lead him to believe that he actually has never made up for his mistakes. He tends to hide most of his emotions and a outward showing of them is what's needed to be able to understand that not everything requires a equal amount of justification on any level.

Lt. Hawkeye - the strong silent type, Hawkeye will not depend on the help of others. Either from a past time where she had to rely on herself or where all others failed, hawkeye tends to shut others out and be independant. Also due to her expert marksmanship one can gather she is very dedicated to her work. But often to much dedication can draw someone from reality putting them in a state of mind where they see everything purely as work and nothing more.

Scar - yet another classic case of inferiority complex. Living under the shadow of his big brother's accomplishments and mistakes scar feels at points he will never live up to the position he feels he was given. As well with that he does feel the certain responsibility in fufilling his brothers mission even at the cost of his own life. He is not one to take things sitting down but often his ideals get in the way of pure humanity. he confessess one belief but yet follows another completely. You might say due to his two sided nature, scar might have multiple personalities. This would be th reason he feels he has to pay for his brothers mistakes.

Eh I'll quit for now and do some more later.

2 Seasons, 51 episodes, and one movie (so far). If you download/buy episode 51, I recommend NEVER WATCHING IT until you've seen the rest of the series - mostly because of the WTF factor and the serious spoilers abroad.

That was a very dark and sad episode in FMA. I myself am a total fan of the show! I cant say if you've watched many episodes, but I can say that you can expect many more dark episodes. I will not spoil it for you or anyone else. But be prepared!
