FMA Chapter 43

Postby NuclearOnslaught » Sun Jan 09, 2005 9:32 pm

Ok, I have a question: Why couldn't the silver alchemist transmute water into a weapon? If he can rearange things at an atomic level, it would't be too hard to take many atoms and reaarage the particles to form a few atoms of a metal, so the amoung of water wouldn't be very great. Combine the dirt and silt dissolved in water, and you have a rather easy to make weapon.

There's no silver alchemist, and no one dies at the end of episode 43. Unless you meant that this person dies at the end of the series? That's. . . a lot of people. Can you be more specific?

Here's a couple of characters with their alchemist titles, in case that spurns your memory:
Ed - Full Metal Alchemist
Roy - Flame Alchemist
Armstrong - Strongarm Alchemist (I think)

But those are all good guys, and it sounds like you may be describing a villain.

Kimbley, perhaps? He's the Crimson Alchemist.

Chapter in the manga, not episode. Does that clarify?

He can rearrange them, not change them into something different.

But besides that, he didn't have the time. Scar was too quick.

Re-arranging subatomic particles DOES change the element of the atom, but I see your point about time.

.... Yeah, I shouldn't argue with others about Chemistry. I'm failing that class, so... ^^;;;

But still... Maybe water doesn't have enough of the type of particles in it to make a metal weapon. Either way, I'm going with the time thing.

No, the manga isn't out yet. There are scanlations online, though.

The atomic mass of water is 18 Atomic mass units (AMU), The atomic mass of iron is 55.8. Now for you to get one thing of iron, you ned about 3 things of water, So to make a certain size of iron you need about 3 times the size of the water, the bonds between the molecules are very tight. But there is alot of space inbetween the nucleous. So there is probably an even greater difference than 3x.

That isn't a problem, since he is underwater at the time. He has all he wants, plus. So, I'll stick with the time explanation I got.
