Cowboy Bebop 26 [spoilers]

Postby The Afrochiapet » Tue Oct 26, 2004 9:05 pm

So as most of you ppl know, in the end of the cowboy bebop series, after spikes fight with viscious, Spike walks down a staircase down to awaiting ppl. He then proceeds to say, "bang," and falls down. My question is:
Is he dead or alive?
Is he just resting, or did he just kick the bucket?

What do you guys think?

Spoliers wrote:He is dead. Also you could have just gave away the ending for a lot of people, though most people have probably seen Cowboy Bebop. Either way, try to refrain from asking the question in the title and use spoiler tags in the post, its easy.

Sad to say this, I know he died  (My favorite anime)
First time I saw it I almost _hit myself. It's easy to figure out why

1. The dramatic sequence of events leading up to the climax of the episode. (That includes the stuff in part 1)

2. Spike and Jet's little stories that are exchanged through the episodes, ecspecially Spike's (The one about the cats) It symbolizes himself and Julia. The talk throught the whole episode was as though he wasn't coming back. And while they've talked like he wasn't coming back before, (Perriot le Fou) They've always showed him surviving.

3.Everyone was either ticked or sad that he was fighting Vicious

4.Finally, if Spike did survive then they definately would have showed something of it, such as Spike bandaged up or Faye running up and kissing him or something, but no!!!! Plus Cowboy Bebop ended because they wanted it to end (NOT because that was the end of the season and they went under so they couldn't continue)They would show a happy ending if spike didn't die

Spike May have been Too Cool to Kill Definitely!

Postby MisnRedWlf » Fri Nov 12, 2004 9:02 pm

If they leave the series like that, then we have no choice but to assume Spike died on those steps.
BUT, if they get the idea for a great movie (nostalgia, I could happen!); they could easily bring Spike back. They would just show him leaving the hospital, nursing a wound or a scar, or having Jet lecture him about how reckless he is (again).

That's what fanfiction is for. And Faye can fall into his arms and they can passionately declare their love for each other.

I liked that they killed Spike. I thought it was good both for his character and for the show. It didn't end all happy-good-guy-prevails-over-all. He wanted his vengeance/to settle his past, and he died getting it.

Besides that Julia got killed so it seemed likely he would get his vengence then let his soul rest in peace. blah blah another disappointing ending.

Yeah..just saw this not sure how old it is. But there are numerous facts supporting the fact that he is dead..considering throught the entire series spike and vicious are always say only they can kill one another, and hinting that if one would die so would the other. And before spike leaves they all think hes going to die but he says "im not going to die im going to find out if im really alive." And the indian guy Jet goes to and says when someone die there guardian star falls and spikes star is going to fall soon. And spike does get stabbed and shot several times..sufficient to say yeah he died..i almost cried when i saw it so did other bebop fanatic friends of mine..very sad ending. Takes the cake on my list of saddest anime ending but also very very awesome. My favorite Anime.

He's as dead as Julius Ceaser, there is no doubt. Spike didn't die on those steps he died with Julia in his arms. He was just going to do what needed to be done to Vicious. It was alluded to earlier on with a star going out when a warrior died. We saw that during the episode's credit sequence with Spike on the ground and his last words about it "all just a dream".

This was the way the series needed to end. There was not going to be a world with an older wiser Spike. There was not going to be a world where he could not seek out Julia. It was the reason he kept moving and kept hanging on. That ending was one of the few times where the show stopped being entertaining and it approached becoming art.

In my opinion, the show ended perfectly. Spike dying (it's worse than that, he's dead, Jim!) ended it right where it was supposed to end.

And about the question before, you have probably already been told, but Ed is a girl. Faye points it out at the end of Jamming With Edward.
