that "work of art" at the end of the ep is the creepiest thing I've seen in anime in a while. But then it's been a while since I've seen a show that hasn't been afraid to pull punches with disturbing stuff
another good conclusion to an arc, hope this series has a satisfying ending, not just them taking down a punch of pawns and the mastermind getting away
So we have a creepy cyborg guy, a staple of trans-humanism, who's only remaining organic body part is his brain. This raises a bunch of really significant post-humanistic questions, like what extended life means for the psyche, how the aging flesh is kept functioning properly without a complete endocrine system, how money and power and immortality effect the sense of right and wrong.
I cringed so hard when he had the pipe made from the girl's bones, and it has been awhile since an anime has registered an emotional response in me like that. Freaking awesome...and disgusting...and terrifying.
And, whoever said this show wasn't moe.... the scene where they are in the car, I hnnng'd.
