I didn't really get that feeling, but I kinda see what you mean (just a little).

new characters in ep6, another girl who acts as a portal thingy into the library other world thingo and her key pacters who uses books as fuel to burn books :/ I like the chick, she reminds me of Envy in FMA lol also there seems to be another pact pair who have evil intentions. I have no idea where gainax is going with this show but I'm really enjoying it.

Still watching for now. This show is really pretty.
Spoiler :
I'm still on the fence about the story...I don't know what it is, almost like, there's this potential that it has, yet every episode it sorta falls short? There still doesn't seem to be an overreaching theme that motivates these two characters, only "acquire phantom books." Each of their investigations is a repetition of the same thing. Each ep I'm like "of course it's a phantom book." I keep watching expecting some monumental revelation in some way that will force change in the characters somehow.

yeah I have to agree - it is pretty interesting show but it lacks some kind of twist. I wounder if for example the new character (ep6) is gonna go against Disward or something like that.

Up to 9 episodes and I'm enjoying it so far, though I do wonder where they're going with this considering it's supposed to end in the next 3 episodes and I have yet to see a bigger story/twist. :uhoh: It feels like a collection of short stories just now.

either they're already planning a second season, or a lot of things will be shoved under the rug.....or thrown together at the last minute.

I really hope it won't be the latter. I love the show and it would really pain me to see it have a crappy ending.

Ok, I was really disappointed with the last two episodes. While I really liked the idea of them going back to Huey's past with his experience with war and stuff, I felt like it just made the last episode REALLY rushed. It was kinda like:
Spoiler :
OMG BAD GUY APPEARS, WE SAVE GIRL, WE FIGHT BAD GUY, WE FAIL SAVING GIRL. SOME EXTRA SCENES OF OTHER CHARACTERS TO FOOL PEOPLE INTO THINKING THERE MIGHT BE ANOTHER SEASON. END.
:| Not amused.

Though that's not to say I didn't enjoy watching it, I really liked the dark gothic-y victorian style animation but I was really sad that it ended so quickly and without a proper round ending. :x

'Watched the last 4 episodes last night! ...
Ok so the episode with Ira and her village was pretty interesting, and I loved the change in artstyle they did to match the world of the novel.
Episode after that with Christabel was something I really liked, but I wish it was elaborated more over like two episodes or something.
Episode 11 was FANTASTIC. I love Ilas. I love this backstory. So much love (even if some stuff probably should've been explained more).
Episode 12 was terrible.
I'm sorry but
Spoiler :
'Let's conveniently line up all of our trucks of Phantom Books to be released to the public outside where NOTHING will happen to them.'
*torched*
Didn't see that one coming, nope.

And ?! He somehow goes back to the world and finds the pink-haired girl (why didn't he do this 11 episodes ago if he could just go inside Dalian?) then runs away with her until -OH NO- they meet the Guardian for unknown reasons ('I thought I opened the gate!' Well, you did. But that's all shmucked up now because the Guardian is apparently all-powerful and god-tier enough to undo what you did).

In the end she decides to stay. Damn it girl, do you KNOW how long its taken him to get there (for some unknown reason) and how long YOU'VE waited there? Suddenly, omg he's here! You're free! Oh well, I guess not. No tears, no uncontrollable sobbing: just 'I should stay here a bit longer, its all good bro.')
So much rage for episode 12. So much.
