AniDB wrote:While in New York, Logan, better known to others as Wolverine, fell in love with a Japanese woman named Mariko. When she suddenly disappears, Logan comes to Japan in search of her.

Mariko's father, Yashida Shingen, is the head of Kuzuryuu, a yakuza organization. It is in Shingen's mansion that Logan finds Mariko, who had been brought back to Japan against her will. It is Shingen's intention for Mariko to marry an influential person so as to seal a political alliance between that person and Kuzuryuu.

During Logan's attack on Shingen's mansion, in a fight with his bodyguards, Logan is struck by a needle. The needle is coated with a poison which greatly reduces his regenerative abilities. In his weakened state, he is no match for Shingen and is defeated in a duel and left for dead.

Logan is discovered on the verge of death by the mysterious Yukio. With Yukio's ministrations, Logan eventually recovers and the two join together in a second bid to take down Shingen.

Wait...Marvel approved this?

For one, Logan looks way younger than when he had his "operation". Another thing, Isn't it kind of a cliche to have some mysterious poison that nullifies a superhero's power then have him fight like a normal dude? I've seen that too many times (in both anime AND comics).

Don't get me wrong, the art looks GREAT, but it's kind of a downer for the die-hard Marvel Fans.

All things aside, I'd probably watch the first few eps (if it was a series and not a movie). If it was a movie, I'd probably watch it online somewhere for free first.
Almost as hard as fighting a Holy Paladin.

I love wolverine ... so i'm not even going to watch one episode of this. somehow turning xmen into a anime is just wrong. it's already got a animated version, and it's called XMEN!

I'm kinda interested, but I cant get over how horrid Wolverine looks >> Madhouse's art style seems to be pretty hit-or-miss with me.

I like the love shown towards this so far though xD

well, just watched eps 1-3 in one go, the series is pretty decent, just don't try and treat it as part of Marvel cannon and enjoy it as just another series.

Interesting that they're bringing in other marvel characters as well, next ep should be interesting.
