So there's this chick, right? And she's got a freaking hot mom. She's pretty average looking tho. And she's got friends, right? Then there's a transfer student. And something about a dream. Then this little crazy looking animal shows up and it turns out it's hair produces a chemical that reacts with the human body creating effects similar to LSD when touched. The rest of the series is based around her tripping right the f*** out.

Madoka Magica is about a normal teenage girl who is living a completely normal school life when she and her normal friend suddenly get attacked by the Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei opening. (That is seriously what this show is about.) And the adventure of life goes on.

So do people's head usually get bitten off in Mahou Shoujo shows or whatever they're called? I was expecting something to happen, but holy hell, I wasn't expecting that.

After seeing that, I am now curious to see how far this rabbit hole goes...

Ep3 was seriously a major WTF.

But on the other hand it's nice to see some realism in mahou shoujo series... I mean - we know it works "something for something". Always.

I was never a fan of magical girls, but this series is oddly interesting. Never expected to see realism in this genre, even though

I wanted to wait the series to end, or actually, the BDs to get out, before watching this series, but quite a few people have been strongly suggesting this show to me. I guess I'll pick it up and see how it is...

This just keeps getting better and better. Seems there is no love lost between the girls. Mahou Shoujo = srs business.

At first I was hype for this anime. Well, I still am to be honest. However, five episodes in and Madoka has still yet to become a Mahou Shoujo? The series is only going to be around 12 episodes I heard.. which means that the extent of seeing Madoka as a Mahou Shoujo will be within the anime's awesome opening. Which sucks, because every episode I'm looking forward to seeing her make the change and wish Mami back to life (obviously going to be her wish).

I thought episode 6 might have the change, but with Homura's rescue of Sayaka, it seems as if pushing Madoka's transformation is indeed possible once again. So yeah, Madoka will become a Mahou Shojou, but with 1 episode left in the series. This is what my pessimistic attitude leads me to believe.

Other than that gripe, I love the series thus far. The tone of it is great.
