ehehe, you're forgetting we're talking about Hitomi here, not the smartest girl in all Gaia (ad not even in Earth). Example: if it was Millerna or Yukari they would have catched the hints. But Hitomi needs blatantly obvious declarations (and i don't see our proud Van below her window in the moonlight crying with a mandolino "Hitomi, wanna be my queen?")
