one category per vid?

Post by Arigatomina » Tue Jan 06, 2004 2:00 pm

Educate me! ^_^

Can one vid win in just about all the categories, or is there some sort of limit (not including best overall/vid of the year)?

I'm thinking a certain vid could do a near-clean sweep this year...if nominated for every category it applies to (best character profile, best drama, best romantic, best use of visual effects, most artistic, most innovative, video of the year - and possibly most improved creator). What are the chances of this happening?

[Serious question here, since I don't know the specifics of the previous contests.]

Last year, <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... ">Absolute Destiny</a>'s <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... >Shameless Rock Video</a> won:
- Best Action Video
- Best Digital Effects
- Most Innovative Video
- Video of the Year

Okay, then who's taking the bets on this year's competition? Sounds like a cake walk. ^"^

Ack, sorry, just realized that that doesn't really answer your question. To be honest, I don't know, but I haven't read anything in the rules about any limits.

No, it answers it. ^.~ I doubt they'd change it from last year.

Genre-specific categories that can use the org's data will, which means that you wont see Virtua Anime in the romance section for example.

Everything else is open season.

Another quick question (concerning genres) - a few vids I've seen have every category listed (about 7 or 8 I think - everything from action to other and serious) - is there some limit to the number of categories a vid can be listed under in order to be applicable to the vca's?

I don't think so- but I'd figure it will be more limited by where people feel it is appropriate as far as category rather than what it is listed as (OK, yes- I'm being optimistic and assuming people are going to be voting on the merits of the videos and not OMG!!!!1!! It's *insert editor here*'s video! Must vote for it!) And- in general- it's been my observation that the better videos tend to be accurately categorized.
