sigh...okay...let's read more carefully then...and see what I missed...

Jace Tsunami wrote:a winrar file..... :?

Ah he is indeed refering to Winrar so I got that right, good.
Jace Tsunami wrote:Common dude, not many people have that program, and seeing as how you appearently do, you didn't have to make a .rar file, winrar will also compress anything into a .zip file.

Not many people have it. Agreed. But as I said, it is easy enough to get.

Jace Tsunami wrote:I didn't download it for that reason alone under the fact I've seen it before, because I don't feel like installing another tedious program.

Refering to the above reason alone, i.e., not many people have it, he didn't install it. However, he has installed it before, but found it to be tedious, which means he found the program to be boring, though no reasons are given as to why this is so. Ah, I see my mistake, he was not bored by the download but rather the program itself.
Jace Tsunami wrote:You'll up downloads if you convert that file to a .zip

This is a possibility, but I still doubt many people will care all that much.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now then, you came back and grouch at me that I didn't read your message. After breaking it down I indeed came back with a slightly different meaning, but the reasons for your argument were still unclear.
You found the program tedious, tedious means boring, which is a rather vague description of an decompression tool. You did not bother to state that you did not want a program on your computer that you felt made it run slower. If you had simply said that instead of limiting your argument the the use of one word: tedious, I probably would have nodded and allowed you to have your reasons for not liking the downloads being available as RAR files. Your rebuttal, as hostile as it comes across, makes more sense, and does a better job of describing your opinion on winrar as a compression/uncompression tool. And now that you've taken some time to clarify your position I won't argue with it, it makes sense from your perspective and I'll leave it at that.
I'm not complaining, I'm explaining myself because people keep asking why, which was really unnecisary from the begining. And as you appearently read my opinion on extra programs, I already have winzip, I only need one. Maybe there will be a day when it's dire for me to uncompress a .rar file, but until then I've already seen tainted donuts and don't need to install a second program just to see it again.
tedious doesn't just mean boring. It means a waste of time and also near pointless. I consider it a waste of time to download an entire program just to see soemthing I've already seen before, and it's breaching pointless to have that program since it is only one file. The vague description of tedious shouldn't come accross as boring, but as not wroth while and a waste of time.
yes feel free to click here :P
I don't know what you have against winrar, if you want to keep your computer from being cluttered then delete winzip and install winrar, it can handle many more compression formats than winzip :D
oh yeah, and click here :P
And jonmartensen,
read the entire conversation, There are reasons why I don't want to uninstall and reinstall, it was stupid remarks like yours that started the argument.
Yes, well....
I read all the stuff you typed and came to the conclusion that you were just bein honry and decided to stick with winzip since your used to it. And I don't see how a helpfull suggestion could be considered stupid. Just because you don't want to install a program superior to winzip doesn't mean you have to lash out at people when they have files that can't be uncompressed by winzip.
And there were no stupid remarks to start an argument. Gottaname stated why he prefered WinRAR and you just kept on saying how having WinRAR instead of/along with WinZip is a waste, and that it would be tedious to install a second (simple) compression utility. He provides an easy way to get the WinRAR utility (which is a good thing since WinRAR is superior to WinZip) and is trying to save space on his server.
No one said anyone is stupid either
Lets just leave it at, would you prefer to run Win95 on your machine rather than any of the new OS's simply because it takes up less space?
Didn't think so.
I called your remark stupid because it was, as is that entire post. I'm not used to winzip, I'm actualy used to winrar, but I don't have it and it'd be a waste for ME to downlaod that ,the only reason I've explained anything here is because stupid people such as yourself make stupid remarks. If you read everything before stating your opinions i wouldn't think you were so stupid.
And btw, new OS systems tend tot ake up less space and run faster. They hardly ever take up more, XP is one of those exceptions, most likley simply being because of all it's fancy art, there's no need for the bubble crap and look. ME/2000 was smaller than 95 and 98, that's the way most upgrades work, they're upgrades.
hahahahhahahaha, you are very good at making me laugh.
I'll let the fact that you said Win95 is larger than the new OS's vindicate me.
I now know the discussion is over, although I think you never really were discussing anything. I know trying to discuss anything about this topic with you is pointless. I'll leave and let you argue whatever points you want to, and I'm sure you'll win your argument. :wink: (hope you know what I'm refering to there, because I don't like to call people stupid)
i could've sworn you were the one who wanted people to stop making fun of you, so why the hell are you attacking other people and then expecting them to sit back and take it?
there's opinion, and there's fact. What ever some one says they think is an opinion, as I'm sure you know. And then on the other hand is the stuff I typed which in a way becomes fact, the fact it was said by me. Opinions don't bother me, it's when people argue facts and they're sitting right there. Everything I said was perfectly clear, and because SO MANY people didn't read what I typed I had to re-explain my self a bout a dozen times. That bothers me. as you can tell by reading this forum there is pretty much almost nothing directed at me that isn't a contradiction at half of what I'm saying. Why contradict half of what I'm saying, when you could read ALL of what I'm saying and understand me, with no need to contradict. If people just read what I typed I wouldn't have to RE-explain myself. As for harping on me, as long as it's an opinion and not a half ass contradiction, I'm fine with it.
