Post by obsidian_blk » Sat Sep 13, 2003 11:08 pm

Hello...

I have finished uploading my latest AMV work! I used Scryed (only the first disc, "Lost Ground") for the video and I think it came out rather well!

I would welcome ANY and ALL comments and suggestions, so, please, feel free to give 'em, if so inclined!!

Well, I can see that a number of people at least went to take a look. I was sort of hoping for some comments... be them good or bad.

In any case, I still hope everyone who saw it liked it!

Needs work.. to me it seemed like you just put in a few long scenes and music. Not a whole lot of effort, how long did it take you to make? an hour?

I actually did enjoy that video a lot. I liked the simpleness of it, Its not about the amount of effects sometimes. I made a scryed video before, and there arnt to many good ones, but I really did like watching this one. This of course is my opinion and many people cant stand simple videos, but i think it was done well 8)

Just in case you really like to know (though I really doubt you do)... It took three days to process the video from the DVD. Then I spent aproximately six hours a day for two days to complete the video. As for the "few long scenes", I will kindly have you know that there were only two sequences in the video that lasted ten seconds or more, while the rest came in at about two seconds long or less.

Otherwise, yes, I do prefer to do "simple" videos. One reason is because the time it takes to process the flashy stuff is quite consuming, but, mostly, I like the simplicity because it's more strait to the point. For me, it becomes more about the music and the characters of the anime then it does about "look what I can do".

But anyway... Please, more opinions would be great!!
BTW... I am very glad you enjoyed the video dcdeveloperx, and thank you for watching it!

Oh!!! I also wanted to mention... along with how long it actually took me to build the video, that time does not include how long I spent listening to song after song so as to find a piece of music that I could feel belonged with the video. That took me a couple of weeks... just to listen and relisten and come up with a song that I felt fit the video.

May not be the song some might have picked, but I feel the song is a VERY important part of the video. For me, it's not enough to pick just a high tempo song to put with action clips. It's far better, in my opinion, if the song's meaning (and when I mention meaning I do mean what it means for me) fits the action or the character being represented.

Anyway... I digress :D
