Ah yes the infamous video 6 arrives at last.???

This is a stunning work, both in the technical aspects and the amount of seamless scene modification. I really enjoyed this Avatar Music Video at AWA (Not as much as Shin.?.but you know how that goes) and I was really pleased to see where you took it and how you continued to push and polish until it reached your original vision. There are so many powerful emotional moments in this video. I love love love the sequence starting at :58 seconds (You know what I'm talking about haha)? It is really something to see and experience in both the flow, sync and clip choice. Overall an amazing Penguindrum video. In fact it is the video that made me watch Penguindrum, and that was a very good life choice.

Well done Ryan! I know you worked really hard on this and it totally shows. A wonderful return from retirement from a wonderful editor ^^

(Also digging how pretentious and artistic it is. You know how I feel about pretentious artisticness :D )

these visuals are probably ones of the coolest I have ever seen! I usually tend to dislike the usage of blending options. Or rather the misusage of it. However, your attempt is super smooth *^* couldn't help but drool over this piece of art haha. Very powerful

The first post has been updated with a "Making-of" infographic. Review it at your leisure and see what went into the whirlpool of overlay-fusion / black-magic-blending machine.

Thank you! I knew when I made this that it wasn't going to be incredibly accessible to everyone, but I was hoping that the *puts on beret and gets serious* artistic vision would elevate it into something special, even for those not familiar with Penguindrum! I'm glad it resonated with you.

I was trying to keep myself from watching this, as I'm halfway through Penguindrum and didn't want to spoil myself, but I couldn't resist it. That was absolutely wonderful. On the visual side, your colouring and compositing was fantastic, and there were a large number of sequences that were absolutely jaw dropping, but moreover, I really like the way you presented the story and concept, and I thought the use of the prelude (Which, I'll admit, I was a little skeptical of at first) was basically the best use that it could have been. Really good job

Now, I really need to get back to finishing Penguindrum.??

From you, I'll take that as a compliment.

It's true.?? when I watched Penguindrum, I was almost immediately convinced that I would have to make a video using it. I got the same feeling while watching Casshern SIns, so it's only fitting that this is the spirit successor to my Illusion video.

I think the best word to sum this up is "smoooth" :)

Nice job on the technical and artistic aspects of the video. If there was a story to this though, without reading the prelude, and wihtout seeing this series, it went over my head :) Still, the visual alone kept me watching till the end.

Thanks a lot! I was wondering how the video would be perceived.?? Honestly, it is more an extended metaphor / allegory than it is a story.? The prelude was added in late in the project, but I liked the additional dimension it added to the experience.?? That being said, I probably could make the "message" a bit less impenetrable (this is something I need to improve on.) All in all, it was a great learning experience for me, and I'm really happy that others are enjoying it as well!

So yea, thanks for the comment!
