Video for the quickening |:>

I apologize early on for the lack of editing skills I still need... To be honest, this video feels like a beta at best. Just saying.

Special thanks to: Malik, Bani, Kimmy, AngelDragoon (Bestie!!!!), and Jubi (Throws dirt at yer face). Sorry May, next time when I'm not so lazy~ :awesome:

But you're always lazy....so never..? XD Anyway-

You're right about it being a beta at best, it's hella rough especially the section at the start where the flashes felt too strong and some crossfades didn't seem to flow very well. If I saw this earlier I'd also make you get rid of those black and white zoom in camera shutter effects since they felt awkward and sharp. I might just be biased but for this type of song I would enjoy it a lot more if you focused on mood/atmosphere sync instead of hard beat sync, not saying you should ignore them completely but they should be a background accessory instead of the main focus. Anyway I liked the colour masks with the b&w backgrounds complemented by the wipes and you picked a really interesting source so the mood was pretty nice at times (like at 1:38, that was just PERFECT and 1:55 too was pretty good), though at other times it really threw me in a loop. Also you picked the weirdest parts to use crossfades where a hard cut would have given it much more impact (mainly the action sequence near the end). That flash at 2:00 really emphasized that whack she did though. XD So yeah could have been better but it's not bad as it currently stands.

I also started watching episode 1 of this series. Thanks for the recommendation! :asd:

Ok so, compared to some other of your works I can see less bad effetcs. I think that you need to focus more on the anime/song combination, which I think it isn't very good. Also, the pacing is absent in some points. There are things you can improve, therefore engage more!

How did I not see this was posted? D: ARGH!

Anyway, I still think you did a fine job on this given the time you were allotted. Sure the middle portion could have had a little more impact and the effects could have a been a little more polished in some areas, but considering what the betas were like this was a very nice improvement. It was a great focus on the beginning turmoil of the series, and I love the coloring/contrasting in this. Great job and good effort overall!

Special thanks to: ... AngelDragoon (Bestie!!!!)

D'aww, anytime. <3 I'm sorry I couldn't critique more. D:

ANNNNNDDDD This is why I needed you for the quickening, May~ :P I would re-do this... but... I hate editing this song. Next time, I'm going to make it past round one. Also, The part I highlighted in bold was probably what I needed to hear, but this whole AMV failing was 3/4th's my fault because I was playing LoL the whole time and editing the last day. The other 1/4th was the source being complete sh*t to work with but I should've caught that while I was editing |: But thank you so much for telling me what I should've done, May~

Also, yeah, no prob~ Least I can do after you gave me recommendation to read Last Game, Beta testing... Raping you-know-who... And helping me mess with Mushroom. :awesome:

Advice received, General Kyros! I need to improve my editing way more and, yeah... that was my biggest problem with the competition was the anime because the first three episodes were in 848 x 480 and the rest were in 704 x 400... Which, by the way, SCREWED ME OVER~ So, I'm just gonna stick with extremely general sources from now on. Thank you so much for the advice Kyros and good luck making it past round two bro~

That's a good question! :nono:

Thanks~ Glad that you saw it.

And I didn't really think my AMV was that different from the beta but, if it looks better to you, then I guess I'm not one to judge. Also, I thought I could've done a much better job than what I produced. :uhoh: But I'll have to do better next time.

Anyway, thank you guys for commenting on my video. I just wanted to let you guys know that I'm not ignoring what you said cause I do want to improve as an editor and every comment counts, bad or good (Mostly bad comments though). So thank you guys for helping me out by telling me what I need to do.

I liked the video but i felt the beginning was kind of weak and you got kind of lazy 3/4th way thru. i do believe the anime + song combo works but you just didnt mold it enough to work perfectly.

Here is a bear --------> :bear:

Well if the AMV is not bad, personally I like :D , but in some parts no there was a good use of effects (for most basic they were) some flashes were too strong for the style of the video, but some if they were good in the video. I loved the flash at 2:00 was great. |:>
Good job, I liked the AMV!
