[AKROSS Con 2011] Ash

Post by Derisor » Thu Feb 02, 2012 2:53 pm

Best Drama on AKROSS Con 2011

Started this project in January and finished it in December. I used a lot of masks, added some details (like the ring, the blood etc.) and redrew many scenes to create what I want to see.

I like the combination of several animes, some of the masks could be better but overall a nice piece

Checked this out because I liked Lux Perpetua (which has grown on me since the first time I watched it) but this didn't really impress me. But I gotta say I'm biased because I find mechas and scifi action anime mostly just immensely boring, and this amv being mostly just that didn't really do it for me. I didn't really notice the masks much, which I guess is a good thing as it makes a nice blend, but I think you could have done way more with the sync (namely the beats).

I find it boring too. Usually I don't use mechas as a source preferring something way more gothic. This video was an experiment and surprisingly for myself I enjoyed making it.
Thank you for the comment, Emong!

The first time I saw this I was impressed by the technical aspects of it (editing, scene selection etc.) but found it so boring I don't think I made it past 2 minutes. >__> This time around, I decided to rewatch it and pay attention closely to what you were trying to show and I gotta say, it was much better after I sorta got your story.

Agree with this general sentiment. I found I needed to be in a certain mood to really enjoy it. The techincal aspects of it was great regardless though.

nice atmosphere, and the color correction was very well done. The only thing I dont like is the length of the video, but overall it was nice to watch

Quite decent stuff. Could maybe utilize some more variety in sync or something, but other than that it was nice.
Still better than that MMO.
