Highschool of the Dead - Let the Bodies Hit the Floor

Post by oo0MadHatter0oo » Tue Jan 17, 2012 6:35 pm

Hey! So I'm brand new to this forum! I've been editing videos for quite a while but only just got around to doing AMVs, which I've had interest in doing for a long time. With that said, this is my first AMV so don't be too harsh

:jester:

If you're interested in watching in HD, then you can also visit it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYAZcLXhYTI on youtube

Don't worry I don't bite. I bited yesterday ;)

About your vid:

Well you got some minus here, like the frame blending, that was noticeable at the beginning. Hmm for the scene selection, try to make a clear conection, here I couldn't get into the plot of the vid. Also the impact of the vid, if you select correctly your scenes, video will have a better presentation, so that it will be reviewable. Not bad, and keep posting

I'm also new, I don't have the guts to be harsh yet :P
Overall I like it, but it doesn't stand out as all that special. There are lots of HOTD-AMVs with this type of music (even the same song!) and I feel like I've seen most of it before. I think what's missing is a stronger concept - which again would influence the scene selection and the sync. I liked most of the sync, and the first part of the intro was cool. I think you're off to a good start though, I don't know if I'd be able to do an action vid that well yet.

@TritioAFB Thanks alot for the pointers!:) but ya I know my videos should have more story, or clearer scene selection to them. I realised that about 3/4 through the finishing of this. As for the frameblending, I definatly need to fix it, I know. @BakaViking Dw, the courage to be horribly critical of people comes with time. be patient young padiwan =) Yeah, it's nothing special, and I realise shouldve added a bit more effects, a bit more story, and have been a bit more original =P

Actually you can fix the frame blending by clicking the Disable Resample Mode in Sony Vegas, assuming you're using SV

But I just recommedn to find out the FPS of your anime and then adjust the proyect with those FPS

To BakaViking: Actually that's good that you've started to post opinions about other vids

I actually use Final Cut Pro. And being as I can't really notice what frame blending really causes, Im feeling a bit like a beginner

like everyone else said, generic, but for the sources you used and the format of your username it really surprised me! you showed effort in matching clips to the song, and selecting clips too (for the most part) but the part at 2:37 felt like a bunch of unfinished gaps and that made the whole thing feel a little incomplete.

not a bad start, keep practicing, don't gotta worry about the d33p concept stuff for now but it may help how your videos are received at your level, but edit what you want.
