1TB External Hard Drives on Sale -EXPIRED-

I was browsing on Best Buy and found that Western Digital - My Book Essential 1TB Hard Drives are on sale this week until Saturday for only $199! They originally go for about $279, so buy it now and save yourself about $80.

I went out and got one for myself today. There was a whole shelf stocked with just these ones. :O

Hmmm... External Enclosures go for between $25 and $35 or so, and 750GB drives go for about $120. $50 difference for an extra 250GB - Decent price.

External enclosures are getting huge now, though... i've seen some external enclosures that look more like mini file servers with 6+GB of HDDs.

EDIT - didn't notice it was USB - It's definitely less worth it in my mind.

Lol, I'm thinking of going over to get another one before the sale ends! XD An AMV editor can never have too much hard drive space.

The only downside I can see so far it that the interface is USB instead of eSATA, slowing down the transfer speed by a decent amount. The file system is also FAT32 when you buy, but format it to NTFS and you are ready to start storing larger files more quickly.

If you miss the deal at Best Buy, Newegg has the same drive for the same price.

Bare (internal) WD 1TB drives are going for $195.
