CompUSA to Close Nearly 130 Stores

Well, say bye-bye to even more CompUSA locations. And this time my store and my job is going with it . All of the Minnesota locations are being axed and to see if any of your locations are probably closing too, just check the store locater to see if your stores even show up anymore.

There might be some good deals from the closing stores. I'll report back on the Minnesota locations (mainly the Minnetonka location) when I get more info. Sigh, I guess it's job searching for me again .

Update:

All CompUSA stores in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex are predicted to close. Considering the HQ is here, that can't bode well for the rest of the locations nation-wide. Most associates I have spoken to have told me they are already looking for other jobs.

Seems that for now sales are minor. Most computers are only 5-10% off. The majority of the store has 10-20% off though. Not really much when you think about it, but it should get cheaper as times go by. Liquidators bought the inventory, so CompUSA no longer controls the pricing. Even though prices will keep dropping I wouldn't expect to see iPods or normally high value items get dirt cheap. Also, each store can have different pricing since it isn't controlled by CompUSA anymore.
